Chapter 724
Slamming the car door shut, Natalie screamed into the phone.
"Natalie, I'm taking Kristin for a paternity test tomorrow," Hamilton's calm voice drifted through the speaker.
"I refuse!"
"I wasn't asking for your permission. I'm telling you. If Kristin is truly my daughter, I
will make sure she comes home to me!"
"Hamilton, why can't you just leave me alone!"
"If you can't bear to be apart from her, you're welcome to come back too."
"Never!"
Hamilton's breathing grew heavy with anger. "Natalie, I am not giving up on Kristin. As for you, make your own choice."
The line went dead.
Natalie slammed her fists against the steering wheel in blind rage. She had to get her daughter back, but what could she do? Who could possibly help her?
Penelope was her first thought. She frantically dialed her number, but the call wouldn't connect. Then it hit her-Penelope had mentioned she was flying out of town for a business trip today. She was likely thousands of feet in the air or stuck in a boardroom.
She knew Penelope would call her the second she saw the missed calls, but she couldn't afford to wait. Kristin was with Hamilton. She had to be terrified and feeling completely alone.
Natalie tried calling Hamilton again, but he ignored it. Left with no other options, she drove straight to his mansion. When she arrived, the staff told her he wasn't home.
Refusing to believe them, she shoved her way inside and searched the entire house. He really wasn't there.
Where could he be?
She immediately thought of the Amos family estate, but when she arrived, the servants blocked the iron gates.
"Mrs. Amos has made it clear that Ms. Taylor is not welcome here."
"My daughter, Kristin. Is she in there?"
The servants practically shoved her away from the property line, refusing to answer.
Standing alone in the dark, Natalie stared at the towering gates of the Amos estate. What was she supposed to do? How was she going to get her baby back?
She couldn't fight Hamilton on her own. She needed someone who wasn't afraid of him—someone with enough power and backing to crush the entire Amos family if necessary.
One name instantly flashed in her mind: Marico.
But could she really go to him?
If Hamilton was a tiger, Marico was a ravenous wolf. Was she really about to throw herself into the wolf's den just to escape the tiger's jaws?
Despite the fear twisting in her stomach, Natalie didn't hesitate for long. She pulled out her phone and called Marico.
It rang endlessly before he finally picked up.
"Damn it... stop moving. You're going to kill me!"
A woman's sultry giggle echoed through the speaker, making it painfully obvious
exactly what Marico was doing. Natalie wanted to hang up out of sheer disgust, but he was her only lifeline.
"Where are you?" she demanded.
"Are you out of your mind? Anyone
listening would think you're my
jealous wife checking up on me." He cursed under his breath, adjusting his position which earned a breathless gasp from the woman on his end.
Natalie took a deep, steadying breath. "Tell me where you are. I'm coming over."
"Coming over? What for?"
"Cut the crap and just tell me!"
"You..."
"Marico, I'm not playing games with you. Hurry up!"
Marico paused for a second before letting out a dark chuckle. "What, you want to join us? Sure, that sounds like a good time. I'll text you the hotel address-tet's see if you
actually have the guts to show up."
He ended the call, and a location pin popped up on her screen seconds later.
Natalie slammed her foot on the gas and sped to the hotel. When she knocked on the suite door, a stunning woman wrapped in nothing but a bath towel answered. She looked incredibly annoyed, but her expression shifted to shock th second she recognized the face on the other side.
"Well, well. Look who it is. A famous movie star."
