Chapter 747

Marin didn't actually possess that kind of ruthless mindset; she just wanted a divorce and to escape the man who sickened her. Her tech-oriented brain was, admittedly, a bit too straightforward.

Ellison obviously thought the same, so when he saw the asset division agreement, his polished executive image completely shattered. He pointed at Marin and roared.

"I finally see your true colors today! I didn't expect you to be such a greedy woman! Let me tell you, you won't get a single penny from me! The company is mine, the stock funds are mine, and the real estate is mine! If you walk away with nothing, I might toss you a few hundred grand to help you transition, but demanding this much? Absolutely impossible!"

Marin looked at the hysterical Ellison. It was as if she were seeing him clearly for the very first time.

"We founded the company together. I handled the tech, you handled the management. We agreed from the start that no matter how big the business got, it would belong to both of us. You can't possibly ignore everything I've sacrificed for this company over the years, and now you have the nerve to claim it's all yours? Ellison, I'm not greedy, but you are truly shameless.”

"Oh, please. At best, you're just an employee. When have you ever seen an employee split company equity with the boss?"

"So in your eyes, I'm just a regular employee?"

"Marin, ask yourself, aside from that one time I cheated, have I ever treated you badly?"

Penelope couldn't listen to this garbage anymore. This was a divorce negotiation, not a couples therapy session.

She tapped the table and looked up at Ellison.

"Mr. Jeffries, I highly suggest you read this agreement very carefully. Marin has already made concessions. If you refuse to sign, she can take you to court. You are the at-fault party, and we have concrete evidence of your infidelity. Any judge dividing the assets will undoubtedly lean in Marin's favor. When the dust settles, you might be the one walking away with nothing."

That struck Ellison's absolute weak spot. He glared at Penelope, his jaw clenched tight enough to grind his teeth to dust. But he wasn't ignorant of the law, and he knew she was right.

“However, Marin still wants an amicable split."

Penelope pulled out a second agreement as she spoke.

"Here, read it clearly. Marin doesn't want your company shares. She just wants an extra twenty percent of the funds and real estate."

Seeing this second agreement, Ellison's expression finally eased up a bit, though he was still reluctant to hand over that much wealth.

"Mr. Jeffries, Marin's time is incredibly valuable. She's giving you exactly one minute to decide."

Ellison gritted his teeth. He knew full well that the woman sitting across from him was the mastermind behind Marin's sudden ruthlessness. She had deliberately drafted two agreements, the first one to terrify him, and the second one to make him breathe a sigh of relief by comparison.

This woman was a shark. He wished he had beaten her up that night so she wouldn't dare interfere, but the powerful people backing her were not ones he could afford to offend.

Left with no other choice, Ellison signed the papers.

That same day, the two of them filed the paperwork at city hall. They would get their final divorce decree in exactly one month.

"See you in a month, Mr. Jeffries. Of course, if you don't show up, we have a very special gift prepared for you."

With that, Penelope grabbed Marin and walked away.

“Marin!” Ellison called out, still

unwilling to give up. "I agreed to the

divorce, but I still want you to stay at

the company. I can offer you a much better salary package than Zenith Group" content belongs

Marin gave a cynical smile. "It took us getting divorced for you to finally recognize

my value to the company."
