"Ms. Scott, you did audition two days ago, and the casting director thought you were a good fit at the time. But that was just his individual opinion. After reviewing your audition tape with the chief director, we felt that your image was too far removed from what we need for Mrs. Thorne, so..."

"I don't accept that excuse!" Maria shrieked. "Get Director Olson and the assistant directors in here right now! I demand an explanation!"

"Ms. Scott, is this really necessary? Making a scene won't end well for anyone."

"Do you think I care about making a scene?" Maria hurled the script at the floor. "Don't forget, you took my investment money!"

"Ms. Scott, I just spoke to Director Olson. He's asking you to meet him on set," one of the crew members interjected.

Maria scoffed. "I'll give him one more chance to fix this. He better understand how important I am to this production!"

Maria stormed toward the exit just as Natalie was walking in. They inevitably bumped into each other, but Natalie had no intention of backing down.

Maria froze for a second when she saw her, her eyes widening in fury. "So, you're the one auditioning for Mrs. Thorne today!"

Natalie rolled her eyes and tried to walk past her, but Maria threw her arm out, blocking the doorway.

"You did this on purpose, didn't you? You knew I wanted this role, so you came to steal it from me!"

Natalie let out a dry laugh. "First of all, I don't pay any attention to you. Second, if I had known, I would have fought for it even harder. And finally, if you don't have the talent, don't try to take on a job like this. You're just embarrassing yourself and causing trouble for everyone else."

"Natalie, where do you get off talking to me like that? You—" Maria suddenly paused, realization dawning on her face. "Is it Hamilton? Did he tell you to come here?"

Natalie frowned. "What does he have to do with this?"

"It has to be him." Maria spat out the words, though she clearly couldn't accept them. "How could he do this to me? He told me over and over that even if he wouldnt marry me, he would always take care of me!"

Natalie had zero interest in the drama between Maria and Hamilton. She sidestepped Maria and walked further inside. It seemed Maria had finally pinpointed the source of her anger, instead of harassing Natalie further, she spun around and sprinted out the door.

Natalie auditioned in full costume and makeup. The process was flawless, leaving

Hugo and the assistant directors incredibly impressed.

Afterward, she went to the dressing room to remove her makeup. When she

emerged, she saw Hamilton standing there. Maria stood next to him, her face flushed with fury, evidently complaining to him.

Natalie's brow furrowed. If Hamilton interfered, there was no way she would get the role.

It was the same exact story from six years ago. Whatever role she auditioned for, Maria would steal it, and as long as Maria wanted it, Hamilton would hand it to her on a silver platter.

Back then, Natalie couldn't secure a single decent script or land a single good role.

The situation how looked pretty

much identical. Not wanting to put Hugo in an awkward position, she was just about to ask a staff member to apologize to the director on her behalf so she could leave. But right then, the staff member informed her that she had passed the audition and was expected to join the cast tomorrow.

Natalie was stunned. She glanced back at Hamilton and Maria. Hamilton's expression was freezing cold, and Maria was already in tears.

She remembered what Maria had shouted: Did Hamilton tell you to come here?

Natalie's mind raced. She turned to the crew member and asked, "Did Hamilton Amos invest in this movie?"

The crew member nodded. "Mr. Amos is our biggest investor."

Natalie fell silent for a moment. "Did Hamilton tell Director Olson to contact me?"

"Um, I don't know the exact details, but last night, while we were at dinner with Director Olson, he did receive a call from Mr. Amos."
