Chapter 790
"You saying you liked me is a joke!"
"Natalie!"
"When Hamilton hurt me time and time again for the sake of that woman, did you ever stand up for me once?"
"He didn't divorce you. You should have endured it, or pretended not to know. He would have eventually changed his ways. But I never expected you to be so wild, actually going out and finding another man!"
"He can mess around, but I can't?"
"You're a woman!"
"Why should women have to suffer?"
Alma's face turned green. Unable to win the argument, she waved her hand dismissively. "There's no point bringing this up now. Let me warn you, you and Kristin must sever all ties with Marico. Otherwise, we will immediately take measures to snatch Kristin back. It'll be too late when you come crying to us!"
Natalie covered her mouth and laughed. "You're telling me to sever ties with my husband?"
"Husband? You and Marico..."
Natalie pulled out their marriage certificate, specifically opening it to show Alma.
"Just today, Marico and I got married. He's my husband, and Kristin's father. If you want to bully us, you'll have to ask him if he agrees!"
Alma stared intently at the marriage certificate, unable to believe Natalie and Marico actually got married.
"Does Hamilton... does he know?"
"Is there any need for him to know?"
Alma snapped a fierce glare at Natalie. "You know his temper. If he finds out you
two got married, he will definitely exact revenge. Definitely!"
"Then let him try. It's about time we settled some debts anyway!"
"Mom!"
The moment Natalie finished speaking, Kristin ran over to her excitedly.
"My teacher praised my neat handwriting, and she praised me for answering questions loudly, and also..." Right in the middle of her excitement, Kristin spotted Alma. Herttle brows instantly furrowed She tugged at Natalie clothes and whispered, "Mom, this is the weird lady who comes to the school gate to look at me every day."
Hearing Kristin mention her, Alma tried to strike up a conversation, but another voice cut in.
"Careful, she might be a human trafficker."
It was Marico. He swaggered over, a wicked, totally unserious grin plastered across his face.
Remembering how he broke into
their estate that night, doused them in gasoline, and threatened mutual destruction, Alma couldn't help but shudder. Why did it have to be
Marico? It wasn't that the Stapleton family was completely untouchable was that Marico was completely unhinged. You couldn't reason with him, he didn't respond to kindness, and threats were useless. If you actually started a fight, he would get more excited than you did.
"Ma'am, let me give you a piece of advice. Don't let me catch you sneaking around
the school gate stalking my kid again."
Alma's face darkened. "I'm looking at my own granddaughter, what does it have to
do with you? And what exactly would you dare to do?"
"Oh, I wouldn't dare do much. I'll just set a fire at your house in the middle of the night. If you two old folks run fast enough, you'll only lose all your hạm. If you don't run fast enough you'll turn into roast chickens."
"You!"
"Do you think I don't have the guts?"
Alma gritted her teeth. With anyone else, it might be a bluff, but Marico would absolutely do it.
She didn't dare provoke Marico. She just shot a dark look at Natalie and drove away.
Seeing Alma leave, Natalie let out a long sigh of relief. The Amos family was definitely going to take action now, but she'd cross that bridge when she came to it. Surprisingly, she felt much more at peace.
She checked the time. "Ah, I have a night shoot. I need to get back to the set now."
She looked at Marico. "I'm leaving Kristin in your hands. I'll call to check up on you at any time."
