Chapter 1064
Sophia froze, staring at Joanna. She was just as selfish and cruel as her father.
Sophia was on the verge of a breakdown. "When I got pregnant, I didn't know whose child it was. After he was born, he didn't look like your father, so I sent your brother abroad."
“But Joanna, you are your father's biological daughter. I never lied to him about that."
Joanna frowned. In that moment, she wished she had been born from Wendy's womb. Then, she would have been the happiest little princess in the world.
But it was just a hopeless, foolish wish.
She, too, cried out in frustration, "Mom, just stop struggling! You and Mr. Wilson weren't married, so his bankruptcy has nothing to do with you. As for Dad, if you want to get back with him, you'll have to beg him yourself."
"I'm spending the holidays with Sebastian this year, so I won't be back to spend them with you. I bought you some gifts. You should have my brother come back and spend the holidays with you."
Joanna took Maxwell Griffith's hand and turned to leave.
"Joanna, are you abandoning me too?" Sophia's anxiety grew infinitely.
Without money, she had no sense of security.
Joanna looked back at her mother, who was acting like a shrew, and was instantly repulsed. “Mom, I never said I was abandoning you. I'll make sure you're taken care of for the rest of your life."
Beyond that, there was nothing more she could give her mother.
Sophia could only watch helplessly as they left.
She had bet everything on Mr. Wilson, but it was Joanna who had schemed against him, causing him to lose everything.
"Ahhh!" Sophia screamed, unable to accept this outcome.
In her later years, she was supposed to be living a life of luxury and glamour, surrounded by dutiful children. But now, she was nothing.
Mrs. Wilson had been watching the drama through her binoculars. She recorded everything and sent it to Wendy. Then, she got out of her car and flanked by two bodyguards, walked up to knock on the door.
Sophia, in her distressed state, thought Joanna had returned. She quickly opened the door, but when she saw Mrs. Wilson, fear flickered in her eyes. "What is it you? What are you doing here?"
Mrs. Wilson said, "Sophia, Mr. Wilson's company is gone. Your plan is ruined. You and your son have nothing."
"And my two children, they want you to be their mother now. I'll have to trouble you to take good care of them from now on. After all, you're the one who tricked them, so you should be responsible for them to the end. Those two can be quite a handful. Now, go ahead and enjoy your brilliant life."
Sophia was stunned. Thinking of Evelyn Carrington's temper, she was furious. "They're your children! You, their own mother, don't want them, so why should I take care of them?"
“Oh? Didn't you used to treat them like your own children? Why are you saying this now? Was all that sincerity just an act?"
"Of course it was an act! What
mother can truly treat someone else's children as her own? It's just
that your son and daughter are
foolish and stupid I said a few nice words, and they started treating me like their real mother."
"They kicked you, their own mother who carefully raised them, to the curb. Are you going to blame me for their own stupidity?"
“Sophia, we abandoned our own mother for you. It turns out you were just sweet- talking us so you could get our dad to divorce our mom and take her place."
Evelyn Carrington's sharp voice cut through the air. Sophia froze, looking flustered at Evelyn, who was standing behind Mrs. Wilson. Why was she here?
