Chapter 522 Add Some Fun to Life

"Mother asked me to invite Ms. Stanford to cooperate with the investigation. Colbert, what do you

think?" Derek cast Colbert a tentative glance.

Colbert froze with the cigarette still in his mouth, and a chill flashed in his eyes.

That cold look swept through Derek momentarily before Colbert slowly retracted his gaze. "You're a

smart man. About whom you're allowed and not allowed to touch, I think..."

He deliberately paused for a few seconds before saying, "You must be very clear about it!"

Those words were full of warning.

Derek said, "Since you like Ms. Stanford, why did you marry Ms. Baldwin? And now things have turned

out like this. Colbert, it's not that I'm blaming you, but you're really handling this badly."

Derek leaned sideways on the sofa. With one hand resting on his knee and another on the back of the

sofa, his arrogant posture was like a silent contest to Colbert.

Colbert said, "Since you know that it's my business, you should just stay out of my way!"

He did not treat Derek with the slightest bit of respect with his indifferent attitude.

"Hahaha."

Instead of getting angry, Derek smiled, "I've never been a nosy person. You must've also realized that

you've always been letting the public relations team handle the wedding banquet. Although it didn't

cause much loss to the company, the stock had plunged by two billion dollars yesterday. You still have

to give an explanation to the board of directors, don't you think?

"Since you won't let me meet Ms. Stanford, I'll just pay a visit to the Burke family straight away. If I don't

teach them a lesson, they'll think there's no one in charge of the Steele family."

That last sentence Derek added seemed to be saying that the Burke family could not distinguish

between right and wrong and that they were being disrespectful.

While in fact, he was talking about Colbert's lack of action.

Colbert clearly knew that the Burke family was the one behind the scenes, yet he took no action about

it. Not only it humiliated the Steele family, but it also turned them into a laughingstock.

"I know what I'm doing." Colbert held the cigarette between his fingers, flicked the ashes on the

ashtray, and said nothing more.

Derek raised his wrist and looked at his watch. "It's getting late. I'll be leaving first."

He got up and left immediately.

After leaving Sinton Group, Derek got into the car and told his subordinate, "Kenison City is all

family."

orders immediately."
