Angela clearly wasn't part of the conversation. She frowned and focused on her tablet.

"Angela?" Fiona called out as she approached and noticed Angela engrossed in a drama series. She was wearing headphones, but they were hidden from view by her hair.

She removed the headphones. "What happened?"

Fiona was speechless. "Nevermind. Just keep watching."

"How can she be so carefree?" Fiona glanced at Dexter with concern, feeling like Angela was a little slow-witted.

Dexter retorted, "Should I do something about it?"

Angela removed her headphones and overheard his question. "Nope. He is the ambassador Mr. Snowden approved. Even if I disagree, I can't take any action against him."

She emphasised "Mr. Snowden".

Upon hearing that, Dexter's expression changed. "You only care about Callum. Do you really have to listen to him?"

She snorted. "Of course. He's my superior. He also readily supported me during my toughest times. So I'll definitely respect and follow his orders."

Dexter was seething with anger, yet he found himself with no way to retort. After all, he was the one who had driven Angela into a corner back then.

Just then, his phone rang. It was a call from Natalie.

"Dexter, hurry! Your grandfather is sick!" Natalie's panicked voice came through the phone.

Angela and Fiona stood up, promptly following Dexter out the door.

Upon their arrival at the hospital,

they learned that Joseph had

already been rushed to the emergency room. Meanwhile, Natalie, Trevor, Ursula, and Cecilia were anxiously awaiting news in the waiting area.

"Dexter, what should I do? I just had an argument with Joseph, but I never expected he would actually... You know what? It was all because of Angela. This is her fault!"

Natalie pointed at Angela, looking frustrated. "I just want you to be nicer to Trevor and take better care of him."

Angela sighed quietly. She knew this situation wasn't her fault and couldn't understand why the blame had fallen on her.

"What does it have to do with Angela?" Fiona scoffed.

Natalie's face flushed with anger as if she had found the perfect outlet for her frustrations. She exclaimed, "You're actually defending her? Before this, you—"

"That's enough, Mom. We need to focus on Dad right now." Ursula was perceptive. She grasped Natalie's wrist and gave her a meaningful look.

Natalie fell silent, but it didn't stop her from shooting another glare at Angela.

Time flew by, and after an hour and a half, the light outside the emergency room finally dimmed.

The doctor came out and reported, "Mr. Bamford Sr. suffered a heartˇˇ attack. Moving forward, he must be careful not to get overworked. Avoid anything that can agitate him."

Natalie exclaimed with tears of joy, "Thank God! I won't say anything more."

"Grandma, I'm so relieved that Grandpa is alright." Cecilia beamed with happiness, tears welling up in her eyes.

Natalie patted Cecilia's head, a smile of relief spreading across her face, though she remained silent. Meanwhile, Dexter, Angela, and Fiona felt overlooked and disconnected from the rest

family. nyel

After a while, Joseph was wheeled out of the emergency room.
