“I threatened him.”

“Huh? How?” Nydia was even more confused.

Gloria smiled, “He took my shares, the thing I was willing to offer him. But there is a big loophole.”

“What?” Nydia looked surprised. “That’s great! He has to give you back your shares!”

“Yes.”

“They’re finally screwed. Since the contract is void, then you can get back the profits for these years!”

Gloria smiled soothingly, “Yeah, you don’t have to worry about me. I’ll take care of the rest. They don’t have the energy to do anything to me yet.”

Gloria felt warm. “Okay.”

In the blink of an eye, Claude was one day away from Gloria’s deadline.

Claude and his family were at home sitting on the couch, their faces grim.

Angela’s voice suddenly broke the silence.

“Why aren’t you talking? What’s the plan?”

Angela looked at Claude and then at Martha. “Mom, have you made up your mind?”

Martha furrowed her brow and looked at Claude. “Did all the lawyers you talked to say there was no problem in the contract?”

Claude’s face was set, but then he nodded. “Yes, I had dozens of lawyers look at the contract, and they all said the contract was good to go and had no loopholes.”

Angela was surprised. “All of them said so?”

“Yes.”

Angela sneered, “Gloria is trying to trick us and scare us away with Norma! There seems to be no loophole in the contract!”

Martha’s face was cold. “Well, then, we don’t need to stop her. Let her continue.”

Claude scowled. “But I’m worried that if we don’t come up with a perfect solution, things won’t look good for us.”

Angela sneered, “Gloria is the one who wants to see things get ugly, not us. She wants to make a scene, and we’ll just let her have her way. She’ll only embarrass herself!”

Claude frowned again and said frostily, “But if this goes to court, it will look like we’re holding on to our shares.”

Angela scoffed, “Now almost all the lawyers say there’s nothing wrong with the contract, except Gloria and George, and they two are working together to freak us out! What’s the point of her going to court when she has no chance to win? All she can do is keep scaring us!”

Martha nodded. “You’re right. Although people may think we are bad, this is no good for Gloria. if this goes to court, the judge will let us keep the shares. That is enough to prove that she’ll have no chance. This is a bad choice for her.“
