Martha was a little anxious and said, “What should we do?”
She had never said such words in the past because she would always try to figure out a way out of the trouble. But now, she felt helpless. She was flustered because Gloria had refused them even though they had used their last straw to clutch at. And after listening to the recording, she had become even angrier! So, Martha was at a loss for what to do next.
Angela bit her lower lip and then said, “We should not have played the recording for her!”
Claude started the car, gritted his teeth, and said, “Shut up! We’ve already played it for her, so there is no point talking about it now!”
Angela said with a sudden face, “I must call that mysterious person!”
Hearing this, Claude kept silent with a frown.
Although Martha did not think it was a good idea either, they seemed to have no other choice now. So, she sighed, “You can give it a try. Since she wants to use you, you must be valuable in her eyes. I don’t think she will watch you die. If the White group goes bankrupt, she may suffer a loss too.”
Angela could not wait any longer, so she immediately took out her cell phone and dialed the number. As always, the person didn’t answer the call. And after a while, Angela’s phone rang.
There was no other sound in the car except the ring. And Martha stared at the phone with anticipation in her eyes.
Angela picked it up nervously, and before she could speak, the person on the other end of the phone said impatiently, “What’s up?”
Angela immediately replied, “I’m in trouble!”
The Cutie frowned slightly and asked, “What happened?”
She sounded impatient but was still willing to hear Angela speak.
Angela didn’t dare to beat around the bush, so she briefly told her what had happened.
Hearing her words, the Cutie remained silent with a deeper frown.
Angela said in a panic, “What should I do now? Please save me!”
The Cutie suddenly showed a sullen face and said, “You’re screwed. I don’t think I can save you.”
Angela was badly shocked and asked, “Are you going to watch me die?”
“Did you murder him?” the Cutie asked in a deep voice.
When Angela showed a slightly panicked face, Martha immediately waved at her with a determined look.
Even if Martha had not prevented her, Angela would not admit it. So, she said anxiously, “How is it possible? Gloria thinks that I want to snatch her man and family property, so she accused us of murdering her father! We did not do it!”
Hearing her anxious voice, the Cutie suddenly sneered, “If you don’t tell me the truth, how can I help you?”
Angela was stunned and then said, “I am telling you the truth.”
“Fine! If what you said is true, Gloria will not have any evidence. As long as you don’t admit it, there will be no problem at all.”
Martha’s face suddenly became gloomy. Angela became more anxious and hurriedly said, “No, she falsified the evidence against us and submitted it to the court today. She would not have done it if she were unsure.”
The Cutie sneered, “If you don’t tell me the truth, I can’t help you. And I don’t know what the evidence is. But as long as it’s fake, you will be fine.”
Then, she hung up the phone.
