Chapter 107
Luca’s POV
Marabella napped on the way home. I knew what she needed in order to release the emotions her mother just filled her with. I know that she is overly ecstatic that her mother is sober, but you can see it written all over her face that she has never seen this version of her mother. She isn’t sure how to process all of this new information and new emotions that she is experiencing. And since I’ve brought her to these experiences, it’s my job to help her process it.
Marabella stirred next to me as we pulled into the driveway of the villa. “I’m sorry, please don’t hurt me”, Mara muttered under her breath, as she stirred some more. I immediately responded by cupping her cheeks and saying her name softly. “Marabella, baby girl, you are dreaming. Wake up now”, I whispered, placing gentle kisses on her face. Mara’s nose scrunched up as she came to. “What?”, she uttered groggily.
“You were having a bad dream, piccola”, I said, as my eyebrows crinkled in concern. “Oh”, she uttered. “What was it about?”, I asked, tilting my head to the side. Mara opened her mouth, then closed it. “I don’t remember, daddy”, she whispered. I could see the confusion on her face. She looked around noticing that we had made it home. She sighed as she looked off in the direction of the compound.
“Do you want to go see him?”, I asked her, knowing what she was thinking about. “Not really, I don’t know what to say at the moment. Or if I will ever have anything to say”, she answered, sadness lacing each of her words. I entwined my fingers with hers, and brought the back of her hand to my mouth. I placed a kiss on her soft skin, and breathed in her scent. “Whenever you are ready, piccola. He is in an inescapable jail cell, and his people won’t get through mine to get to him. So you have all the time in the world”, I told her.
Tears began to drop from her hazel eyes. “Baby girl”, I whispered, cupping her chin and making her look at me. When her eyes connected with mine, she broke. She collapsed into my arms and began sobbing. “What the fuck is wrong with me?”, she cried out. She sounded so broken that it tore a hole in my chest.
“Absolutely nothing, baby girl. Not a fucking thing. I swear to you”, I choked up as I held her. I unbuckled her seat belt, and maneuvered her over into my lap, after I adjusted the seat as far back as it would go. “Why is it like this? Why did this happen?”, she bawled. “I’m just a huge fucking mistake, that he wanted to toy with and torture”, her words were laced with hurt, as she choked on them.
“Shh, baby girl. You are not a mistake. You are my beautiful wife. And it was meant to be. I will help you, I promise. I will get you any help you need”, I swore to her. Her sobs were uncontrollable. She cried so hard that she started to choke and cough. “Easy there, piccola”, I whispered, rubbing circles on her back to calm her down.
“I want to lay down”, she stuttered. “Okay, baby girl”, I whispered, opening the driver-side door. I carried Marabella up to our room. I laid her on the bed and removed her shoes. I sat on the bed next to her and ran my fingers through her hair. “Stay with me, please. At least until I fall asleep”, she whispered, grabbing ahold of my arm.
“I am right here, piccola. I am not going anywhere”, I told her. I laid down next to her and placed her head on my chest. I continued to run my fingers through her hair because I knew how much she loved it. Mara sniffled and stuttered her breath as she tried to calm down.
It took a while for her to finally doze off into a deep sleep. I hate Franky even more for making my baby girl question herself. I am going to give him everything he deserves. The low life piece of shit that he is, he deserves to die. But I can not take the opportunity away from Mara, to get any questions she may have answered. But I can beat the absolute shit out of him.
I carefully slipped out from under Marabella, careful not to wake her. I bent over and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. And then scribbled a quick note on the notepad next to the bed. Marabella, I will be back in just a little while, if you happen to wake up while I am gone. I love you principessa.
I silently left the bedroom with one mission on my mind. ‘Make him suffer for a while’. I had a taste for blood, and unfortunately for him, it’s his I am after. I glided down the stairs, not making a single sound as I slipped back out of the house. I climbed into my quietest car, and headed towards the back of the property, to the compound.
As I walked through the doors of the compound, my soldatos began to bow, showing me the upmost respect. I captured our biggest enemy. Of course, all of them are waiting for me to kill him. But I am not sure when that might be. That depends on my beautiful wife. I have her feelings and livelihood to take into consideration. It is her father, after all.
“Boss, you are here”, Cal said, arching an eyebrow at me. He knew I would be out with Mara, seeing her mother today. So our quick arrival back has thrown him for a loop. His look of confusion only deepened when I nodded at him, as I walked right past him. I am a man on a mission. I won’t be stopped now. Not when I am this close to finally releasing some of the anger I have consolidated towards this man.
Franky was strapped to the wall when I walked into the cell. I smirked when my eyes landed on him. Raggedy and bruised, pfft, he’s a human, just like the rest of us. “Oh look, my son-in-law came to visit me. How wonderful”, Franky croaked. I stared silently at him. My anger intensified with each second that passed.
“To what do I owe this great pleasure?”, he questioned. He tried to hold his head up, but that wasn’t very easy for him at that second. “I just held my precious wife, as she cried her heart out. Today was the first day she has ever seen her mother clean, and that is your fault”, I growled. My arms were crossed across my chest.
“She’s still too weak”, he tsked. My jaw popped under the force I was using while clenching my teeth together. I slowly walked towards Franky. Stalking him like a predator getting ready to catch their prey. “I think you are wrong. You don’t know Marabella Rose like I do”, I said, contempt in my voice. “That must mean you are weak too”, he snorted. I drew back and punched him square in the nose.
The crack of his nose echoed throughout the underground dungeon. “I believe otherwise. Your daughter, she is the strongest woman you will ever know. She makes me want to be a better person. She makes me a better person”, I said, throwing a few more punches. Some to his face, others to his sides and stomach.
“You, on the other hand”, I continued, as I landed more blows. “Are a weak, spineless, pathetic, piece of shit. A dead beat father. A useless leader of his people, and a fucking pussy”, I growled, landing hit after hit after hit. Until the next thing I knew, Cal was pulling me off of him, saying something along the lines of I was killing him. Not that it matters.
