Chapter 84
Marabella’s POV
I woke up with my head on Luca’s bare chest. My arm was drapped over his stomach, and his hand rested on my thigh, of the leg that I had thrown across his hip. While his other arm was wrapped around my back and his hand rested on my waist. I ran my hand up his abs and pecs lightly, taking my time to trace each outline. Luca’s breathing accelerated as he gripped my thigh.
“Hmm, goodmorning, mia moglie (my wife)”, his voice was laced with sleep, making it deeper and sexy. “Buongiorno, mio marito (goodmorning, my husband)”, I purred. Luca smiled broadly as he pulled me closer to him. “Dimentico che conosci la mia lingua (I forget that you know my language)”, he hummed with delight. I stradled his hips, tenderly, avoiding hurting myself.
His hand immediately grabbed the crease of my upper thighs and hips, as he groaned. I leaned down, so that my chest brushed his. My lips ghosted his ear, “Forse dovrei parlatene piu` approfonditamente, allora (Maybe I should talk to you more in it, then)”, I whispered. Luca shivered, as he hands slid up my sides. “Forse dovresti, bambina (Maybe you should, baby girl)”, he growled.
Luca quickly switched our positions so that he was on top of me. “Hai un accento davvero carino quando lo fai (You have the cutest accent when you do)”, he purred, brushing his lips over my neck. “Tu la pensi cosi? (You think so?)”, I teased. “Dio, si, bambina (God, yes, baby girl)”, he groaned nipping at my neck.
My stomach growled interrupting us. My face turned red with embarrassment but Luca just laughed. “Let’s get some food in you, piccola. Then we will start our day”, he whispered, placing a deep kiss on my lips, before helping me up. We quickly got dressed and headed down stairs. My pace was steady for someone who was as injured as I.
Luca’s mother and brothers were already at the table when we arrived. “So nice of you to join us”, Carlo snickered.I felt Luca move slightly, next to me, and then Carlo yelped. “Ow”, he whined, rubbing his leg under the table. “Boys, enough”, Ma said. “So, what do you two have planned for the day?”, she asked, looking between Luca and I. I froze slightly, forgetting that he had said we would visit my mother.
Luca reached over and grabbed my thigh, making me look up at him. He gave me a reassuring smile before looking back at his mother. “We are going to visit Mara’s mother today and check up on her”, he explained. “Oh, that’s good. I’m sure she misses you, Mara”, she said sweetly.
I felt a pain in my chest, but smiled and nodded anyway. Luca leaned over and whispered in my ear. “You look stunning, principessa”. A geniune smile crossed my lips. “Thank you”, I whispered back. Luca kissed right below my earlobe, “You’re welcome, gattina”, he uttered.
After breakfast, Cal drove the SUV around. Luca helped me into the backseat, as Rex took passenger seat. Another two SUVs accompanied us, one in front of us, one behind us. Detail has been upgraded until further notice, considering everything that has been happening.
I stared out of the window at the passing trees, wondering, does my mom miss me? How bad is it there? Is this a mistake? One that I will greatly regret? Will we fight? I don’t want her to hate me. What child wants their mother to hate them? I was pulled into a warm, broad chest. “I will be with you the whole time, baby girl. I promise, I will not leave your side”, he whispered, as he played with my wedding ring.
“I know. Thank you, Luca”, I said softly, looking up at him. He gently cupped my cheek and kissed me, taking my mind off of my scattered thoughts. I rested my head on his chest and curled up into his side. Luca rested his head on top of mine, and ran his fingers through my hair.
We sat, silently like this for the whole ride. Luca’s heartbeat was lulling me into a trance, keeping my anxiety at bay. That was until I began to notice the neighborhood we were in. My grip on Luca subconsiously tightened. “I’ve got you, piccola”, he whispered, lacing his fingers into my hair and holding my head to his chest.
We pulled to a stop in front of my old house. Memories plagued me one after another, reminding me of the life I was once forced to live. “Whenever you are ready, bambina”, he uttered. I nodded and took a a few deep breaths to clear my mind. I am stronger than this. My memories can’t have control of me, I have things to take care of. “I’m ready”, I said.
As we stepped out of the SUV , the sun shown off of Luca’s gray suit and black hair, bringing out his gray eyes. Luca smirked, a he turned around to help me out, obviously cathcing me checking him out. I wore a pair of black slacks, matched with a gray blouse and gray converse, from the clothes that Luca ordered for me. I’m not big on heels or boots unless I feel like the event absolutely calls for them. I’m beyond grateful that my husband supports that side of me.
“I love your outfit, bambina. You are adorable, sexy, sophisticated and all you”, Luca complimented, as he placed a kiss on my forehead. I blushed, as I reached up on my tip toes and kissed his cheek. “Grazie mio bel marito (Thank you, my handsome husband)”, I whispered in his ear.
Luca’s hands gripped my waist as he brought his lips to my ear. “Sei la benvenuta, mia bella moglie. Siete pronti? (You’re welcome, my beautiful wife. Are you ready?)”, he uttered. He rested his forehead against mine. I took a deep breath and let out my shakiness. I nodded my head. “Yeah”, I mumbled.
