“What could he possibly have to do? It’s just work, work, work!” Judie pouted.

She remembered how her mom and aunt had wanted to set Leilani up with her cousin. Judie originally thought her aunt was just desperate because her cousin was still single at his age, wanting to snatch up any excellent girl she saw. But now that she thought about it…

Callahan, the domineering CEO.

Leilani, the cool, aloof doctor.

It was practically a romance novel setup.

The only downside was that both were workaholics. If they actually clicked, they’d probably only see each other two or three times a month. But who could say for sure?

Judie thought more about it and decided they fit well. Her eyes lit up like lightbulbs as she

stared at Leilani.

“Leilani, I remember… you’re single, right? Want to meet my cousin? He’s a bit of a block of wood, but he’s handsome and rich. Totally reliable!”

Leilani nearly choked on her water. She looked at Judie helplessly. “Since when did you start playing matchmaker like your mom and aunt?”

She was so young; why was she getting into the matchmaking business?

Judie stuck out her tongue sheepishly. “I just think you guys would look good together! Plus, if you became my family, we’d be related! How great would that be?”

Judie thought it was a solid idea. Leilani was beautiful, kind, and incredibly skilled professionally. If her cousin wasn’t at least decent, she wouldn’t bother. They were a visual match made in heaven. Leilani had saved her life; she wouldn’t introduce some loser to her. She wasn’t about to repay kindness with misery.

Leilani wanted to laugh. She didn’t find Judie intrusive. Through their interactions, she could tell Judie was straightforward and genuinely kind. It wasn’t the fake innocence Tamara put on. Judie also knew boundaries and never said things she shouldn’t.

Leilani was happy to be friends with her. She knew Judie meant well and genuinely thought her cousin was a catch. So, Leilani wasn’t angry.

However, anger aside, her last blind date arranged by Dante involving Callahan had ended in disaster. She had absolutely no interest in that right now.

Leilani made her stance clear, scolding Judie with a smile. “What goes on in that head of yours all day? Stop reading those cheesy romance novels.”

Judie grinned. Seeing that Leilani’really wasn’t interested, she sensibly dropped the

subject and changed the topic.

After dinner, Judie linked arms with Leilani as they walked out of the restaurant. In the night air, she suddenly lowered her voice. “Leilani, I didn’t mean anything bad by what I said today. Don’t be mad, okay? I just really think my cousin is a good guy… If you ever change your mind, let me know!”

Leilani shook her head, assuring her she wasn’t mad. She just really wasn’t interested in dating at the moment.

Relieved, Judie hopped into her car.

Watching Judie’s car drive away, Leilani let out a sigh.

Dating? The potential match from the last blind date was nowhere to be found…
