She seemed genuinely over Milford.

Tamara stared doubtfully at Leilani’s figure as it disappeared from view.

But then she thought, who cares? Even if Leilani still had feelings for Milford, so what? Milford was marrying her. Leilani was the loser!

Tamara was determined to make Leilani watch this wedding with her own eyes. She, Tamara, was the final winner!

As for Leilani’s threat about being exposed…

A ruthless glint flashed through Tamara’s eyes. By then, she would be Yvonne’s sister-in-law. She had made Yvonne lose her memory once; she could make her lose it a second time. And this time, she would ensure there was absolutely no possibility of Yvonne ever recovering!

After leaving Leilani’s apartment, Tamara didn’t want to risk any delays. She had her driver take her directly to the Sherwood Group.

Milford was processing documents. Seeing her barge in without knocking, his brows furrowed almost imperceptibly.

However, he quickly composed himself, checked the time on his phone, and spoke to her in a natural tone.

“Tamara, what are you doing here? At this hour, shouldn’t you be at home looking over the invitations? Why come to the office so suddenly?”

Ever since their wedding was set, Tamara had been busy with wedding-related matters. Usually, at this time, she would be dealing with the guest list.

“I came to discuss the wedding with you.” Tamara wore a sweet smile as she walked over to him, affectionately linking her arm through his. “I already settled the invitations yesterday. I went to drop one off for Leilani this morning and stopped by to see you on the way. Why, aren’t you happy?”

Milford’s pen paused abruptly. He looked up, a flash of panic and shock in his eyes. “You went to see Leilani?”

Tamara blinked, feigning innocence. “Yes, why? I waited outside Leilani’s complex for an hour before I caught her. Before I went, I was worried Leilani might be angry, but surprisingly… Leilani readily agreed to come to our wedding.”

“You…” Milford’s throat bobbed, his voice sounding tight. “Hasn’t your relationship with Leilani always been bad? I didn’t expect you to go out of your way to find her.”

Leilani’s personality had become increasingly prickly since her release from prison. She confronted everyone and spared no one’s feelings-Milford knew this from personal experience.

Yet now, Tamara-the person Leilani hated most-had gone to give her an invitation, and Leilani not only refrained from kicking Tamara out but actually agreed to come?

To Milford, it sounded surreal. He suspected Tamara might be making it up.

Tamara’s smile stiffened, and she bit her lip, looking aggrieved. “Milford, what do you mean? Can’t I invite Leilani? She’s my family, after all. As soon as the invitations were ready, I went to invite Leilani immediately. Is there a problem with that?”

The problem wasn’t her; it was Milford. He couldn’t exactly say it. He was afraid to see Leilani, afraid to face those calm eyes that seemed to see through everything, and even more afraid of the unspeakable guilt and wavering feelings deep in his heart.

“That’s not what I meant.” He managed to suppress his emotions, softening his tone. “I just felt there was no need to go out of your way to notify her.”

“Is that so?”

Tamara wasn’t stupid. Ever since their wedding was finalized, Milford had been indifferent.
