No longer trapped in the corner by Callahan, Leilani finally had a chance to look at his

apartment.

Her gaze swept around the room. It was much simpler than she had imagined. The color palette was black, white, and gray; it was spacious and bright. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows lay the city’s nightscape. It was luxurious without being ostentatious, fitting his style perfectly.

The two of them had a simple dinner.

After the meal, Callahan sat on the sofa, glanced at the watch on his wrist, and said to Leilani, “Help me take it off.”

Leilani paused. “Hm?”

han extended his wrist toward her, the corners of his lips lifting slightly. “Swap it for

you gave me.”

blinked, then reached out to undo the clasp. She carefully removed his old watch, ked up the one she had given him, and gently fastened it onto his wrist.

The deep blue dial complemented his skin tone; it was understated but had a hidden sharpness. Compared to his previous watch, this one added a bit more youthful energy.

Callahan looked down at it, raising an eyebrow in satisfaction. “It suits me very well.”

Leilani withdrew her hand and nodded with satisfaction as well. “Yeah, it really does go well with you.”

Callahan looked up at her, unable to resist teasing her. “When you picked it, did you choose it based on my temperament? You understand me so well.”

Leilani glared at him speechlessly, refusing to take the bait. “I just bought it randomly. It looked good, so I got it.”

Seeing that Leilani was about to bristle, Callahan let out a low laugh and stopped teasing

her.

Leilani checked the time. It was

any longer. “I should head back. I have ten o’clock. It was getting late; she couldn’t stay

to go to Brass City early tomorrow morning.”

Callahan nodded and picked up his jacket. “I’ll walk you out.”

Leilani shook her head. “No need, it’s just one floor.”

But Callahan had already walked to the door and looked back at her. “Let’s go.

Helpless, Leilani followed him.

In the elevator, they stood side by side in silence. When the doors opened on the 18th floor, Leilani whispered, “Goodnight.”

Callahan looked at her and reached out to ruffle the top of her hair. “Goodnight. Thank you for the gift. I’m very happy.”

Leilani curved her lips into a smile, hurriedly murmured a “Yeah,” and walked quickly out of the elevator.

After seeing Leilani off, Callahan returned home. He stood at the entrance, looking down at the bags in the corner, his eyes darkening.

Micah had good taste? He was going to make sure Leilani saw whose taste was actually

better-his or Micah’s.

He picked up his phone and dialed his special assistant. “Order every single limited-edition bag from the latest season of Lavelle Lux. Have a full set sent to Leilani’s place

tomorrow.”

ssistant was stunned. “All of them? Lavelle Lux has over a dozen limited-edition

this season…”

Callahan’s tone was flat. “Yes, all of them.”

He paused, then added, “Also, contact the jeweler under my name. Have that ruby necklace from the recent auction sent to Leilani as well.”

“Yes, sir.”

Hanging up, Callahan rubbed the watch on his wrist, the corner of his mouth curving upward.

With only a week left until the wedding, Tamara and Milford were in the final stages of preparation. She dragged Carola and Deborah along to try on wedding dresses.

Inside Alloy City’s most high-end custom bridal salon, Tamara stood before a massive floor-to-ceiling mirror. She was wearing a train wedding gown encrusted with diamonds that sparkled brilliantly under the lights. The light cascaded from above, enveloping her figure in a soft halo.

Tamara’s dress was a custom design by a top Italian designer. The pure white satin was inlaid with countless tiny diamonds, looking like a galaxy pouring down, outlining her slender waist and the graceful curve of her neck.
