“Yes!” Dr. Larson continued, “Although Leilani Sloan’s treatment methods are a bit unconventional, the data doesn’t lie. Ms. Sherwood’s seizure frequency has decreased significantly, and her sleep quality has improved. In that case, Ms. Sloan’s skills are truly superb. If she comes to treat Ms. Sherwood again, could I possibly observe on-site?”

Dr. Larson sounded thrilled. As Yvonne’s attending physician for four years, the prospect of his patient recovering naturally delighted him. More than that, he felt a deep professional admiration for Leilani’s skills.

Hearing Leilani’s name, Milford instinctively glanced at Tamara, who was sitting across from him. His expression stiffened slightly.

He hadn’t told Tamara that Leilani was treating Yvonne. Originally, he just hadn’t wanted to worry Tamara or add to her stress, but now that she was finding out this way, it was bound to cause a misunderstanding. He could only hope Tamara hadn’t heard Dr. Larson clearly.

Unfortunately, Tamara had heard every word. Leilani is treating Yvonne? And Yvonne might actually recover? Does that mean the truth about her being the one who pushed Yvonne down the stairs could be exposed to the Sherwoods?

Realizing this, Tamara froze, her hand stilling on her wine glass. But a second later, she lowered her head, pretending she hadn’t heard anything..

Milford paused for a moment, trying to sound casual as he responded to Dr. Larson’s excitement. “Alright. If she comes again, I’ll let you know.”

After hanging up, Milford looked at Tamara hesitantly. He didn’t know if he should explain the conversation. But Tamara was cutting her steak with her head down, looking perfectly normal.

Seeing Milford looking at her, she looked up, her expression a mix of confusion and concern. “Is it about Yvonne? I heard you say Dr. Larson’s name.”

Milford hummed an affirmation and mentioned that Yvonne’s condition had improved. After hesitating, he decided not to mention Leilani. After all, Tamara was acting naturally; she didn’t seem to have overheard the specific details./

Hearing that nothing bad had happened to Yvonne, Tamara let out an obvious sigh of relief and spoke to Milford in a playful, affectionate tone. “You have no idea. When I heard Dr. Larson was calling, it scared me to death. I thought something bad had happened to Yvonne again. But thank goodness it’s good news. Maybe Yvonne will be back to normal soon?”

Tamara’s encouragement warmed Milford’s heart. He smiled and pinched her cheek affectionately. “I hope you’re right. Yvonne will be so happy when she wakes up and sees you as her sister-in-law.”

Tamara lowered her head, feigning shyness to hide the shock and panic in her eyes.

After dinner, Milford drove Tamara back to the Sloan estate. The car pulled up to the villa’s

entrance.

“See you later.” Milford turned to say goodbye.

Ever since learning Yvonne was recovering, Tamara had been consumed by anxiety, but she couldn’t show it in front of Milford. She forced a smile. “Okay, see you later. I’ll miss you.”

She stood at the door, watching Milford drive away. As soon as the car vanished from sight, her face instantly darkened.
