Judie leaned back against the headboard, her fingers tapping rapidly on her phone screen. Although Leilani hadn’t given her contact information, Judie had other ways!

When she was sent to the emergency room, a signature was required on the forms. Leilani, not knowing Judie’s family contacts and pressed by the urgent situation, had filled in her own name and number. She hadn’t expected Judie to use this.

Excitedly, Judie saved “Leilani” into her contacts and added a note: [My Lifesaver]

Just as she was pondering how to introduce herself via text, the ward door was flung open. A woman in a high-fashion suit with exquisite makeup rushed in, her high heels clicking sharply on the floor.

“Judie! What happened? How could you suddenly have an allergic reaction? You scared me to death!”

Libby Palmer, Judie’s mother, had been having afternoon tea with friends when she received the call. She had rushed over immediately.

Libby walked quickly to the bedside, holding her daughter’s hand in distress. “What did the doctor say? Does anything still hurt?”

She looked Judie up and down. Judie looked a bit pale, but most of the rash on her face had faded, leaving only a few traces on her neck and arms. It didn’t look as severe as the doctor had described, so Libby breathed a sigh of relief.

Judie shook her head with a smile. “Mom, I’m fine. Thanks to a young lady passing by who

saved me.”

Libby frowned. “What young lady?”

“Her name is Leilani Sloan. She’s a doctor, and she’s amazing!” Judie’s eyes sparkled. “My throat was swelling up so bad I was suffocating. She gave me a pill and stuck me with two needles, and I recovered instantly!”

Libby’s expression shifted. “You dared to take medicine given by a random person on the

street?”

Her daughter was too trusting. It was lucky she was okay, but what if something had gone wrong?

“Mom!” Judie mumbled. “She’s a professional! Even the emergency doctor praised her timely handling.”

Libby sighed and stroked her daughter’s hair. “You just trust people too easily.” She paused. “But… since she did save you, we really should thank her properly. Do you have her contact info?”

Judie waved her phone. “Yes! I got it from the nurse. It’s just a pity. When I said I wanted to thank her, she said no need and left quickly. Mom, you came too late. If you were earlier, you

could have met Dr. Sloan.”

Judie was a bit glum. Dr. Sloan was beautiful and kind, just a bit cold. She had left so decisively, one might think she was afraid Judie would try to extort her.

Libby felt Judie was overthinking it. “It’s fine. When you’re better, we’ll visit her to say thank you in person.”

With their family’s resources, finding someone was simple. They would use the right approach; surely Dr. Sloan wouldn’t be able to resist their gratitude. After all, they genuinely

wanted to thank her.

Meanwhile, Leilani returned to the mall to pay for the dress she had tried on.
