On the other side, Clive, wearing sunglasses, walked briskly toward the parking lot under the protection of bodyguards. Suddenly, he paused, scanning the crowd.

He thought… he saw Leilani? Was it an illusion?

But when he looked closer, the figure had disappeared around the corner.

“Was I imagining it?” Clive frowned, then relaxed. How could that girl afford a passport and travel?

Thinking of how strange Leilani had been since her release, Clive muttered a curse. “Why am I thinking about her? Bad luck.”

In the VIP lounge, twenty minutes before departure. Leilani’s phone vibrated with a message from the dark web. It was the client she had booked online, asking if she had left.

Leilani checked the time and replied that she was departing.

Four hours later. Zamora International Airport.

Leilani walked briskly with her luggage but unexpectedly didn’t head for the exit. Instead, she went straight to the restroom, choosing the furthest stall. She opened a small black leather case containing a silicone mask and a voice modulator-items she had purchased at a high price from the dark web to hide her identity.

Balancing a mirror on the toilet tank, Leilani applied the disguise. Her delicate features were covered, transforming into a plain, forgettable face: monolids, a flatter nose, sallow skin. She looked like an ordinary recent graduate whom no one would look at twice.

No one noticed the stunning beauty vanish into the restroom only to be replaced by a plain

woman.

Leilani dragged her luggage to the exit. At a glance, she saw a man in a sharp suit holding a sign that boldly read “Dr. L.”

Leilani walked over calmly. “Hello, I am L. You’re here to pick me up, correct?”

The man was tall and muscular, his suit hiding explosive power. He took off his sunglasses and looked her up and down, seemingly surprised. The legendary heir of the “Phantom Doctor” who could cure rare poisons was just this ordinary woman?

But he was a professional. He quickly composed himself and bowed respectfully. “Dr. L, please follow me.”

Leilani followed him into a low-profile black sedan with specialized tinted windows that completely obscured the interior from the outside. The engine roared to life, and the car sped away from the airport, through the bustling city, finally stopping in front of an all-glass skyscraper. The building had no sign, no logo, and the entrance was hidden.

Leilani observed her surroundings cautiously with cold eyes. A strange country, a silent bodyguard…
