Chapter 260:

Isolde stood in the doorway. She looked like a ghost — pale and disheveled — but the fury radiating from her body filled the room like toxic gas. Grayson’s eyes widened. He instinctively tried to sit up, wincing as his broken ribs protested. “Isolde? What are you doing here at this hour?”

Isolde didn’t look at him. She walked straight toward Cheryl.

Before Cheryl could react, Isolde raised her hand and violently struck the crystal flute from her grip. The glass shattered against the wall. Cold champagne splashed directly across Cheryl’s face and soaked into her expensive mink stole.

Cheryl shrieked, stumbling backward. “Are you insane?!”

Isolde stepped closer, her voice a terrifying, dead calm. “That is my mother’s blood you are drinking. Does it taste sweet?”

Belle jumped up from the bed and grabbed her mother’s arm. “Isolde! Stop acting like a psycho! This is a hospital!”

Isolde finally turned her head. She locked eyes with Grayson.

“You knew,” Isolde said. Her voice didn’t shake. It was a statement of absolute fact. “You demanded the audit. You took our client list. You fed my grandfather’s legacy to these parasites.”

Grayson set his water cup on the tray and slipped on his cold, corporate mask. “Watch your tone, Isolde. It was a standard resource allocation. Carson Dynamics lacked the capital to fulfill those contracts. I simply moved the assets to a more capable entity.”

Isolde stared at him. “You moved the assets? You stole our proprietary designs and underbid us to bankrupt my family.”

“I am trying to save what’s left of your family from total ruin,” Grayson argued, his voice rising slightly. “I have already drafted a merger agreement. InnoTech will absorb Carson Dynamics. Your mother will be given a consultant title with a generous pension. It is the best possible outcome.”

Isolde let out a laugh — a broken, agonizing sound that scraped against the walls of the room.

He actually believed he was being merciful. He was slaughtering her family and asking her to be grateful for the scraps.

Isolde took a step backward and looked at the man she had loved with every fiber of her being for five years.

“You don’t just lack a heart, Grayson,” she whispered. “You lack basic humanity.”

She raised her left hand. She grabbed the platinum wedding ring on her finger — the ring she had refused to remove, even after handing him the divorce papers — and pulled it off.

With a sudden, violent motion, Isolde threw the heavy platinum band directly at Grayson’s face.

The ring flew through the air and struck his left cheekbone with a sharp, sickening crack. The metal cut into his skin, and a bright red line of blood bloomed instantly across his pale cheek. The ring bounced off his face and hit the floor with a hollow ping.

The room fell into absolute silence.

Belle covered her mouth with both hands, her eyes wide with shock.

Isolde didn’t blink. “Grayson Lancaster. From this exact second, you are dead to me.”

She turned and looked at Cheryl and Belle, who were cowering near the window.
