By this time, Ashton had already stepped away. After hearing Liam’s accusation, he turned around with an apologetic smile. “Sorry, Liam. The forest ground here is really slippery. I just lost my footing. My apologies,” he said.

After a breath, Ashton continued, “Also, the firewood you helped me gather seems sufficient. I don’t think we need to collect more. I’m going to head back now. Thanks for your help!”

With that, he turned and walked out of the woods, leaving Liam standing there, completely stunned.

After a brief moment, Liam snapped out of his daze, his anger nearly overwhelming him.

He was on the brink of success, but Ashton still managed to escape.

Before Liam could vent his frustration, he began sneezing uncontrollably.

At the same time, Liam experienced a stinging sensation all over his body, and red rashes and blisters started to form.

Almost immediately, he was overtaken by an unbearable itchiness and pain.

In his distress, he looked up and shouted to his subordinate hidden in the tree, who was supposed to intervene.

“What the hell are you waiting for? Get down here and help me figure this out! What should I do about this itching? I feel like I’m dying!”

Liam tried desperately to scratch the itchy areas, but touching them only caused sharp pain.

This cycle of intense itching and pain when trying to scratch made Liam even more furious. Seeing Liam’s miserable state, the subordinate quickly climbed down from the tree in a panic.

The subordinate stuttered as he spoke. “This is an allergic reaction. There’s no quick fix. Your body needs to naturally clear the allergen. It could take a couple of days.”

Upon hearing the prognosis, Liam’s anger intensified. The thought of enduring this agony for even a moment longer, much less two or three days, was unbearable for him.

“Damn it!” he cursed.

Fuming with rage, Liam vowed that Ashton would not escape his wrath.

Raised in a life of privilege, Liam was notorious for his vindictive nature; he was accustomed to intimidating others and never accepted retaliation gracefully.

Now, after facing repeated humiliations by Ashton, he felt like he was at his breaking point.

Without hesitation, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number, yelling into the device, “Get over to the southern suburbs immediately! We need to deal with a disrespectful fool!” Liam then abruptly ended the call.

“I can’t stand this anymore! If it comes down to it, I’ll just apologize to Rosalie later and figure out another way to gain her favor,” Liam muttered to himself.

At that moment, Liam was indifferent to keeping his cool in front of Rosalie.

He was determined that Ashton must suffer and rue the day he crossed him, or else Liam would feel that enduring his current misery had been pointless.

After enduring a few moments of severe itchiness and pain, Liam managed to make his way back to his campsite, looking quite miserable.
