Fraser noticed Rosalie’s forced smile but did not read it as a sign of trouble for him.
Instead, he flashed a grin and said, “Rosalie, if you’re in any trouble, don’t hesitate to reach out. I heard about the staffing issues with your project. I have a construction team available that I can lend you temporarily.”
Before Rosalie could respond, Ashton interjected, rejecting the offer.
“Thank you for the offer, but the project is just starting, and we don’t need extra hands at the moment. We can manage on our own. If you genuinely want to help, it would be best if you stayed out of this matter. If it gets out that you’re trying to get involved in a project you didn’t win the bid for, it could damage the Campbell family’s reputation.”
Fraser’s smile faded at Ashton’s words.
This joint project was a significant opportunity, and even a small share could translate into millions in profit—something the Horton family would never easily relinquish.
That was why Fraser had been attempting to find a way to insert himself through Rosalie.
But just as Fraser was poised to make his move, Ashton had called him out.

That’s why you lost. Take the loss with grace and wait for another chance. Don’t try to sneak your way into the project team through dishonest means. You must understand how much damage this could cause to the Campbell family. The Campbell and Horton families are close allies, and I don’t want you to put us in a difficult position.”
Rosalie’s tone was gentle but unmistakably firm; she was rejecting Fraser’s plan.
