Chapter 316
Chapter 316:
Watching Atley’s pitiful sobs, Ashton let out a cold snort and demanded, “Which underworld faction do you belong to?”
“The Lion Clan,” Atley admitted.
The Lion Clan? Ashton wasn’t familiar with the underworld groups in Inewood, so he immediately contacted Liam.
“Do you know anything about the Lion Clan?”
Liam’s response came with surprise. “The Lion Clan? They’re the Black Dragon Gang’s fiercest rivals. Their influence in the city’s underworld rivals our own! What’s your interest in them all of a sudden? If they’ve wronged you, just give the order, and I’ll unleash our full force against them!”
Ashton chuckled low and confident. “No need for all that. But do send some backup. I’m planning to pay a visit to their turf myself!”
Soon, under Liam’s direction, Ashton arrived at the entrance of a factory on the outskirts of Inewood.
Outwardly, it appeared to be a modest materials processing plant, but in reality, it was the Lion Clan’s central base, housing a sizable underground casino.
After hearing Liam’s briefing on the Lion Clan, Ashton nodded in acknowledgment. He then ordered Liam to have his men wait outside and enter discreetly in small groups, ready to act on his command.
Having given these instructions, Ashton advanced alone toward the factory.
After a brief security check, he was allowed to pass, mistaken for a gambler, and proceeded deeper into the factory where the casino was hidden.
The factory workshop had been converted into a makeshift casino, thick with smoke and filled with the clamor of a lively crowd, as various unsavory characters mingled throughout.
Ashton’s solitary entrance went largely unnoticed.
As Atley had informed him, the person who had assigned him this task was the casino’s manager, a man named Hamza Potter, who typically oversaw a dart-throwing gambling game.
After surveying the casino, Ashton quickly identified his target and moved directly toward the dart game.
Hamza, bored and idle, watched the activity at other tables while waiting for word from Atley’s side.
At that moment, a strikingly handsome young man walked past him.
Hamza instinctively looked up, noticing the newcomer appeared fresh, and casually said, “Hey there, care to try your luck, handsome? The odds are three-to-one, and you can wager however you please.”
Ashton stopped, feigning curiosity. “I’ve never played this before. How does it work?”
Seeing Ashton’s curious expression, Hamza scoffed inwardly, convinced this was a naive novice unaware that something was off.
Regulars knew better than to challenge Hamza, famed for his dart-throwing skill. No one dared oppose him in what was essentially a rigged game.
