Chapter 341
Chapter 341:
Ashton’s mood lifted instantly at the sight of her. The frustration and irritation from his encounter with Vivian melted away like snow under a warm spring sun.
Before Rosalie could say anything, Ashton grinned and teased, “Just as I imagined, you look absolutely stunning in that dress.”
Rosalie blushed at his compliment, a sweet warmth spreading in her chest.
But before she could respond, Vivian stormed over, her face twisted with jealousy. “What does it matter to you if she looks good?”
Vivian sneered. “Do you actually think you’re worthy of her? Just look at the dress she’s wearing—even if you spent all your money, you probably still couldn’t afford it.”
Vivian’s biting remarks had temporarily eased her wounded pride.
In her mind, it was unthinkable for someone as sophisticated and graceful as Rosalie to be interested in a man like Ashton, whose humble attire marked him as a social pariah.
The disparity between their worlds was too vast; they simply couldn’t belong together.
Just as Vivian reveled in her perceived victory, she noticed a subtle, almost enigmatic smile flicker across Ashton’s face.
With a nonchalant air, Ashton retrieved a sleek, dark bank card and directed his gaze toward the shop assistant behind Rosalie with a raised eyebrow. “How much is this dress?”
The shop assistant, initially taken aback, hesitated but then replied with professional candor, “This dress, created by the renowned designer Holley Roberts, is priced at one hundred and eighty thousand dollars. While it’s not a limited edition, it’s still quite exclusive.”
Vivian gasped, her eyes widening in shock.

She had intended to buy the dress herself if Ashton proved too frugal, just to undermine him.
But faced with the staggering price, she quickly discarded her plan.
No need to be so extravagant on a garment she would scarcely wear.
Without a flicker of hesitation, Ashton handed over the card.
The shop assistant’s eyes lit up with excitement at the prospect of such a substantial sale. She swiftly processed the payment, her hands moving with practiced efficiency.
Ashton turned to Vivian, a knowing smile playing on his lips. Though he said nothing, his unspoken message left Vivian and the young men flushed with embarrassment.
Rosalie, blissfully unaware of the underlying drama, beamed with happiness.
The hefty price of the dress was a drop in the ocean for her, but Ashton’s willingness to purchase it brought her genuine joy.
When she received the gift-wrapped box, her happiness was palpable. She took Ashton’s hand and led him out of the shop. Their departure left Vivian and the young men around her feeling as if they were shrinking into the ground, mortified by their own folly.
