Chapter 358
Chapter 358:
Although filled with joy, Ashton maintained his usual composure.
As Rosalie busied herself with the rest of the celebration, Ashton slipped away to a secluded corner to make a call to Charlie, who was on standby.
“Charlie, I’m relying on you for this next part. It’s not often Fraser makes a public appearance. I need updates on his movements and any plans he might be hatching.”
Ashton had anticipated Fraser’s appearance and had already arranged for Charlie to be ready.
Upon receiving Ashton’s orders, Charlie responded promptly, “No worries, Mr. Baldwin. I’ve got someone on him as soon as he stepped out of the venue earlier. You’ll be the first to know if anything comes up!”
Content with the arrangement, Ashton ended the call and rejoined the festivities.
It wasn’t until the party was nearly over that his phone rang again.
Charlie cut straight to the chase. “Mr. Baldwin, my sources say Fraser left the beach and headed to the Marquez brothers’ residence. Looks like he had a meeting there, and now they’ve all headed to the airport together.”
Hearing this, Ashton’s brow furrowed in concern.
He had braced for Fraser’s potential retaliation but hadn’t anticipated him leaving Inewood so abruptly.
Fraser’s departure left Ashton enveloped in a cloud of uncertainty.
Where was Fraser going? And what was he secretly planning? Ashton was unsure, but he had a feeling that the conspiracy was complicated.
While he was lost in thought, Rosalie approached him with a slice of cake.
Noticing Ashton’s serious expression, she voiced her concern. “What’s on your mind, Ashton? Is everything okay?”

The celebration was winding down, and it had been a wonderful event for Rosalie. Seeing her happiness, Ashton didn’t want to dampen her spirits.
He offered her a reassuring smile and a casual wave of his hand. “Oh, it’s nothing serious. Time for a break, right? The school wants a final report for the semester, and you know I’m not the best at that sort of thing.”
Rosalie, still enjoying the warmth of the party, believed his words without second thought.
She playfully fed him a piece of cake and offered, “If you’re struggling with the report, I can help. Writing reports is kind of my thing.”
Ashton nodded, accepting the cake, and made a silent vow to himself. No matter what Fraser planned, if it threatened Rosalie, Ashton would be ready to protect her.
As the party neared its end, the newly formed couple found a chance to be alone, walking hand-in-hand to the beach. They sat closely together, gazing out at the sea under the night sky.
Rosalie, snuggling closer, suddenly turned to face him.
Her eyes, sincere and searching, sought his. “Ashton, be honest with me. Were you holding back on telling me about your real identity earlier?”
