“Thank you for stepping in earlier. I might not be standing here without your help,” she said, her voice still carrying a hint of frost but noticeably less aloof than before.
Ashton shrugged off her formal tone, responding, “No problem. Considering our future partnership, I couldn’t just stand by and watch you fall into danger.”
Abrial simply nodded, offering no further words.
The situation had been tense, and even after it was resolved, Ashton and Rosalie had no desire to linger.
Abrial swiftly handled the aftermath and arranged for their stay at a renowned five-star hotel in Staville.
Perhaps preoccupied with the trouble caused by Davis, Abrial quickly excused herself and left the hotel soon after ensuring their accommodation, her departure swift. With Abrial gone, Rosalie breathed a sigh of relief.
Clutching Ashton’s arm, she chuckled lightly. “That was quite the workout, wasn’t it? Let’s go freshen up. How about the hotel hot spring? I’ve visited it before on a business trip. They have private areas which are really secluded.” A shared soak in a hot spring? In a private spot?
Ashton’s mind began to race, although it was uncharacteristic for him.
How could anyone turn down such an invitation?
Moreover, their relationship was already tinged with romance, so there was no reason for hesitation.
After a short wait in the secluded part of the hot spring, Ashton finally caught sight of Rosalie making her way in.
However, contrary to what he had imagined, Rosalie arrived wearing a bikini.

Unaware of Ashton’s racing thoughts, Rosalie caught him staring and smirked slightly.
“Why are you looking at me like that? It’s not the first time you’ve seen me,” Rosalie teased, easing into the hot spring and inching toward Ashton.
Ashton, seated next to such a captivating presence, was filled with thoughts he dared not act on. He cleared his throat awkwardly and managed an excuse.
“I was just thinking about the negotiations with the Carter family. I hope it won’t be too tough for you, considering the unfinished Inewood project and your increased workload.”
Rosalie, smiling reassuringly, responded, “It’s manageable. The Inewood project is stable, and Liam’s team is on top of it. We shouldn’t face any significant problems. We just need to concentrate on our current tasks.”
She sighed softly and then shared a concern. “But really, Ashton, have you noticed how Abrial looks at me? It’s a bit peculiar. Do you think she has a preference?”
Ashton’s mouth twitched, and he replied, “I had the same thought. Honestly, if it weren’t necessary for our business dealings, I wouldn’t have intervened on her behalf.”
