Chapter 433
Chapter 433:
Clearly, the upstart company was no match for the established giant that Sup Group represented.
Consequently, many job seekers quickly shifted their focus toward Dewey.
Last time, Ashton had quickly dismantled the Marquez brothers’ plans before they could gain any real momentum. He was fully aware that they wouldn’t simply accept defeat and would likely return with new schemes. So, Ashton was hardly surprised when the Marquez brothers once again sent someone to cause trouble.
This time, however, Ashton chose not to intervene directly. Instead, he delegated the matter to some of the management team from Skyline Group’s headquarters. Ashton himself opted to step back and observe the situation as it unfolded.
While some onlookers were there merely for the spectacle, Dewey’s attractive job proposal quickly gained traction, drawing considerable interest from many attendees who began asking him questions. A few even tried to impress him, with one individual saying, “I came here thinking this company was substantial, but now I’m starting to wonder if it’s just overrated. Just as I was about to leave, I ran into you. It must be destiny, right? Can you possibly reserve a place for me in your recruitment process?”
Dewey reveled in the flattery directed at him. Everything was progressing exactly as he had planned. He basked in the spotlight with visible pride. After all, his confidence came from his association with the reputable Sup Group in Staville.
Feeling on top of the world, Dewey stayed focused on his purpose. He cast a disdainful glance at the Skyline Group management team, who appeared increasingly anxious, and mockingly said, “Here’s a little advice: With a company like yours offering so little substance, maybe it’s time to shut down. Otherwise, you’ll embarrass yourselves and become the laughingstock of Staville.”
As soon as he finished, laughter erupted from the surrounding crowd.
It certainly caught the Skyline Group recruiters off guard to see someone openly poaching candidates right in front of them. They quickly worked to calm the apprehensive applicants waiting in line, but many began reconsidering their options. Some even started gravitating toward Dewey.

While Dewey’s approach was somewhat excessive, his point wasn’t without merit.
The fledgling company under Skyline Group’s banner had yet to prove itself beyond its polished advertisements, leaving prospective employees uncertain about their career prospects.
With the tide turning in his favor, Dewey experienced a surge of satisfaction. For him, the timing was perfect. Skyline Group was completely unprepared and unable to mount a defense. However, just as Dewey was savoring his apparent victory, a sudden commotion stirred among the crowd. Someone shouted excitedly, “Oh wow! Jeff Perez is here!”
At once, everyone turned to look toward the entrance. All those present were connected to the antique industry, where Jeff was a recognized figure. A buzz of excitement enveloped the crowd, and many near Dewey moved to welcome Jeff, adding energy to the atmosphere.
At that moment, the emcee of the recruitment event received a message from Ashton and swiftly took to the microphone.
