Chapter 438
Chapter 438:
This insight had inspired her to pursue a career in antique appraisal, aiming to become an expert herself. Seeing the master she admired here, Carlotta was naturally exhilarated.
However, she quickly noticed something unusual—Jeff was not in the primary interviewer’s chair.
Could it be that other specialists were also part of this interview panel?
Carlotta was curious about the identity of the main interviewer but hesitated to ask as she carefully handed over her resume to the interviewer in front of her. Edwin’s face shifted subtly as he glanced at her resume before leaning in to whisper something to Jeff.
Seeing their quiet conversation made Carlotta’s anxiety rise.
Just when she felt her chances were slipping away, she noticed Edwin step into a small lounge within the interview room and return with someone. It was the young man who had left earlier!
To her astonishment, the young man walked directly to the main interviewer’s chair.
Ashton flashed a small smile at her and said, “Miss Santos, we meet again.”
Carlotta blinked in disbelief, almost shouting in surprise, but quickly covered her mouth, remembering she was in the middle of an interview.
Jeff caught her reaction and offered a comforting smile. “Don’t get too worked up, young lady. Go ahead and introduce yourself.”
Carlotta nodded and started her introduction.
Her nerves were already frayed, and seeing Ashton there only increased her agitation. It felt like a scene from a TV show was unfolding before her, causing her words to falter and her speech to become unclear.

Following her disjointed introduction, Carlotta calmed down but was filled with remorse. She had promised herself she’d perform flawlessly, yet even her introduction was lacking.
By now, she was convinced that without any intervention from Nolan, she stood no chance at the job.
Ashton, remaining poised, listened to her introduction, and then whispered briefly to Jeff before posing some straightforward professional questions to Carlotta.
Ashton’s questions were quite simple, and Carlotta answered them smoothly, yet a sinking feeling grew inside her.
It appeared the interviewers were merely going through the motions, with no real intention of hiring her. Just as Carlotta resigned herself to defeat, Ashton said, “Unless there are any further questions, I’m pleased to announce that Miss Carlotta Santos is hired as one of our team.”
With the main interviewer having made the decision, the others raised no objections and began clapping and offering Carlotta their congratulations.
It wasn’t until Ashton stood and offered his hand that Carlotta, still bewildered, grasped the reality of her situation. Only a few minutes had passed. They had asked just a handful of questions, and she was already hired?
