Milena’s expression softened as she met Ashton’s gaze, her eyes brimming with a mixture of gratitude and resolve.

I was the sole survivor, shielded by their sacrifice. After that, my life had been a relentless fight for survival until some officials found me. Then, the Baldwin family took me in and trained me, providing me the chance to seek vengeance. Ashton listened in somber silence, understanding now that Milena’s aloof demeanor masked her tragic past rather than reflecting her true self.
