Chapter 485
Chapter 485:
Eventually, the traffic officer made her way through the crowd. Observing the situation, she frowned and quickly approached Ashton.
She displayed her police ID card to everyone and then asked Ashton, “Sir, what’s the issue here?”
The officer was notably attractive, with bright red lips, white teeth, and striking eyes. Had she not shown her ID, which identified her as Alisha Smith, a traffic officer, Ashton might have mistaken her for a movie star.
Nevertheless, Ashton appeared unimpressed. He shrugged and said, “My car didn’t hit him, but he deliberately staged this to extort money from me. He was targeting luxury cars at the parking lot exit. Despite my explanations, no one believes me. I’m not sure what to do now.”
Alisha observed Ashton’s dismissive attitude and, perceiving his affluent background, felt a bias in favor of the short man.
“If you didn’t hit him, how did he end up in front of your car?” Alisha said, her lips pursed.
Seeing the traffic officer and bystanders seemingly supporting him, Nikolas Torres, the short man, felt validated by his performance.
Nonetheless, he quickly resumed his act, dried his tears, and demanded loudly, “With everyone watching, why are we still arguing? Just pay up the compensation!”
Ashton gazed at Nikolas and said, “I’m not paying.”
Alisha grew even more infuriated upon hearing this, frustrated that Ashton would show such arrogance despite her authority as a traffic officer. He clearly wasn’t taking her seriously.
Just as Alisha was about to lose her temper, Ashton tapped the hood of his car and said, “You’re quite attractive, but lacking in judgment. How many innocent people will suffer if you handle cases this way?”
Before Alisha could respond, Ashton pointed to his…

Ashton’s car’s bumper and asked, “If I had really hit him and sent him flying such a distance, wouldn’t there be marks on the bumper?”
Hearing this, Alisha quickly crouched to inspect the bumper more closely. Indeed, it was completely unmarked, showing no signs of any impact.
Alisha and the bystanders who had initially supported Nikolas now appeared sheepish.
Had they been wrong about Ashton all along?
Nikolas’ expression turned sour. He was well-versed in the tactic of feigning accidents with cars.
Whenever a car neared, he would stage a collision. If unsuccessful, he would quickly abandon the pretense and move on to another vehicle as if nothing had happened.
This time, his greed was spurred by the allure of Ashton’s luxury car, compelling him to take a chance.
Unfortunately for him, Ashton quickly exposed his deceit in front of everyone, eliminating any opportunity for argument.
