He looked around to make sure no one had noticed him. Then, he peered into the opening below and realized that the hidden door led not to a secret chamber, but to an underground pipe network connected to the sewer.

As he opened the iron door, Ashton’s face twisted in disgust as the foul stench from the sewer hit him with full force. However, there seemed to be a faint glimmer of light in the distance, cutting through the oppressive darkness of the sewer. His heart raced, knowing this was the lead he had been searching for.

Ashton dropped down into the dark, cramped sewer space without hesitation. The stench was suffocating, but he pushed through it.

When the team leader heard this, his body trembled slightly. He hurriedly reported, “Mr. Norman, that cunning woman took advantage of her small stature to escape into a narrower secret passage.
