Chapter 563
Chapter 563:
But here he sat, his body trapped in a prison of paralysis, a mere spectator as Ashton coolly extracted the micro-bomb concealed at his waist.
In that instant, Egan understood that the numbing pain in his hand during his earlier attempt to trigger the bomb concealed in the cake wasn’t simply a result of nerves.
As Ashton deftly cut the wire of the miniature bomb, he looked up with a smirk, his eyes glinting with triumph. “Didn’t I warn you? If you hadn’t squandered so much time chatting, you might have succeeded. This is the second time, yet the lesson seems lost on you.”
With that, Ashton removed the silver needles from Egan’s body, liberating him from his immobilized state.
Now, Egan’s face resembled that of a wilting flower, all traces of hope evaporated as he hung his head in surrender. No longer did he resist; he lacked the strength to argue.
Seeing Egan’s resignation, Ashton pressed on, “Are you prepared to divulge the secrets of the Dark Night Organization?”
Egan remained silent for what felt like an eternity before finally speaking, his eyes lifeless and dim. “I implore you, grant me a swift death. Revealing anything about the Dark Night Organization would lead to a fate more horrifying than death itself at your hands!”
Ashton was not caught off guard by Egan’s despair. His mission was in ruins, and Egan likely assumed his sons were beyond saving. Even if granted life, he probably wouldn’t desire it. Yet Ashton had anticipated this response and was ready for it.
“So, you wish to die now and reunite with your sons? Who told you they were dead?” Ashton inquired, curiosity lighting his eyes.
Egan froze, as if struck by a bolt from the blue. Ashton signaled to a nearby officer, who instantly understood and reached out to Warship Isle.

Before long, Jacob’s voice crackled through the phone, filled with desperation. “Ashton! Please let me go back. I’m begging you! There’s no smoke, no alcohol, no women here. Ten years of this is tantamount to a death sentence!”
The sound of his son’s voice left Egan reeling, as life ignited in his once-dull eyes.
“Jacoby! Where are you? Is your brother with you?” Egan cried, hope surging within him.
Jacoby, hearing his father’s voice, was equally invigorated. “Dad! Help me! I can’t take it anymore!”
But before Egan could answer, Ashton abruptly ended the call. “They’re currently detained on the Warship Isle. You’re familiar with that place, I trust? It’s a remote, inescapable military prison where the Dark Night Organization has no reach. If you cooperate with me, you can live there too.”
Egan, initially indifferent to saving his own life, now found a renewed will to survive, knowing his sons were alive.
Taking a deep breath, he began to disclose everything he knew to Ashton.
It became clear that the Dark Night Organization was not merely an assassin group; it was a complex web divided into two factions: the Dark Hall and the Night Palace. Fraser, one of the five envoys of the Dark Hall, held a position just beneath the leader of the Dark Hall.
