Chapter 630
Chapter 630:
Upon reflecting more deeply, Ashton acknowledged the significant role the bloodstained card had played in the swift unmasking of Zane.
Such a simple oversight seemed unlikely from someone as skilled as Red Jack, suggesting it was intentional. Had it not been for Red Jack’s strategic interference, Ashton’s own plans might not have led to Zane’s exposure so quickly.
This realization left Ashton even more bewildered.
“Why go to such lengths? You orchestrated Craig’s murder, guided me to unveil Zane, and then you executed him right before my eyes. What’s your endgame?” Ashton probed.
A grin of satisfaction spread across Red Jack’s face as he observed Ashton piecing together the puzzle. “Indeed, I killed Craig. By now, you must have surmised as much. He was a mole, nurtured by the Dark Night Organization and embedded by Fraser into the Carter family to hijack their fortune. Your insights are correct. I purposely left that piece of evidence where Zane, leveraging his role as captain of the criminal investigation team, would stumble upon it. This orchestrated discovery played right into your growing suspicions, leading you to unmask a traitor in your midst. Yet, this is not the real surprise I prepared for you.”
As Ashton grappled with these revelations, he failed to grasp the full scope of Red Jack’s intentions.
No longer leaving Ashton in the dark, Red Jack turned solemn. “My elaborate maneuvers were driven by one goal—to show you the depth of my sincerity.”
See his sincerity?
Ashton was even more confused by Red Jack’s words. He looked at him and asked tentatively, “What do you mean? Do you want to turn yourself in?”
Red Jack shrugged, looking at Ashton as if he were an idiot. “Turn myself in? Why would I do that? I can’t even remember how many people I’ve killed. If you catch me, I’m sure it’s a dead end for me. My goal might seem strange to you, and it’s normal that you can’t guess it. So, I’ll stop beating around the bush and be upfront. I’m here to ask you to cooperate with me and help me get rid of Fraser.”

Ashton was stunned for a moment. Then, his gaze sharpened.
“What trick are you trying to play this time? As far as I know, the leader of the Night Palace sent you here to assist Fraser. If you let me kill Fraser, are you not afraid your leader will blame you?”
“Actually, I am worried my boss will punish me. That’s why I want to cooperate with you. You can take care of that fool for me, and I won’t be held responsible,” Red Jack explained with resignation.
Ashton became even more intrigued. “It seems there’s a conflict of interest between the Night Palace and the Dark Hall.”
Red Jack lit a cigarette leisurely, took a drag, and tossed one to Ashton.
However, Ashton waved his hand, rejecting it. Red Jack frowned slightly and shook his head unhappily.
“Not really. It’s just that I dislike Fraser so much that I can no longer stand him. The organization has provided him with all the resources and the best people. But in the end, he acts like he’s someone great, bossing me around and criticizing me all the time. We’ve only fought once, but I know you are not an ordinary person. I know you are behind most of the organization’s recent failures. It’s just that Fraser is a fool who still thinks you’re just a toy boy who relies on women. He thought you were only close to the police because you’d hooked up with Rayden’s daughter.”
