With caution guiding his steps, Ashton decided to explore the illegal gambling den by himself.

The casino staff seemed so confident in their security measures that they didn’t bother to check Ashton, who walked right in without issue.

As Ashton began his search for Red Jack, a delicate scent caught his attention, followed by a gentle tap on his shoulder.

“Ashton! What brings you here?”

The voice was familiar, and turning around, Ashton was surprised to see Alisha, whom he had not seen for several days.

Upon seeing her, his face took on a puzzled expression, and he whispered urgently, “I should be the one asking you that! What are you doing in a place like this?”

Alisha looked around cautiously to make sure they were not being overheard, then responded with a quiet laugh, “After the Zane incident, my father praised my actions and gave me a chance to transfer to the criminal investigation team. I wanted to make a name for myself, so when I heard about this notorious casino, I slipped in to investigate. I never expected to bump into you right as I walked in!”

Ashton was momentarily speechless at her audacious demeanor.

He leaned in swiftly and said, “This place is full of danger. What made you think you could handle this alone? This casino has been a tough nut for Staville’s police to crack for years. If things take a bad turn, help might not reach you in time!”
