Chapter 651
Chapter 651:
After hanging up, Ashton let out a frustrated sigh.
Milena had mentioned other domestic sources for Phoenix Tail and Dragon Teeth, but they were difficult to cultivate, making the herb a rarity.
Even utilizing the extensive Baldwin family network to procure these herbs would require at least ten days for gathering, harvesting, and transport.
With just five days until his plan was set to unfold, Ashton knew he wouldn’t have enough time to prepare the antidote.
As he contemplated delaying his operation, his phone rang unexpectedly. It wasn’t Gustave but Alisha on the line.
Without hesitation, Ashton picked up.
Alisha’s voice was tinged with a chill as she said, “I’m home now. Remember your promise? I’ve decided on the request I want to make. I’m free tomorrow, so you’re taking me on a proper date.”
The next day arrived.
Although Ashton knew it wasn’t the ideal time for a date, he chose to keep his promise.
He felt a need to fulfill his commitment to Alisha, and more importantly, he wanted to clarify things to prevent her feelings from growing deeper.
When he reached the meeting place, Alisha was already there, just as before. She’d arrived earlier than he had.
As Alisha scanned her surroundings, she spotted Ashton approaching. Her face lit up with a bright smile. “You’re always keeping me waiting.”
Her playful complaint was evident, but the joy in her expression was unmistakable.
Seeing her happiness made Ashton feel uneasy. He didn’t want to hurt her, but he also knew he had to be clear.

Taking a deep breath, he said, “Alisha, I know you might have feelings for me. But I’ve told you before—I have a girlfriend, and we’re happy together.”
Alisha blinked, nodding. “I know. It’s Rosalie from the Campbell family in Inewood, right? And I know you’ve been divorced before.”
Ashton paused, surprised. “If you know that, then why do you still—”
Before he could finish, Alisha interrupted with a casual tone. “If you could get divorced after marriage, why can’t I take a chance? Besides Rosalie, there’s also Abrial. What’s wrong with you liking me?”
Ashton was taken aback. His relationship with Abrial had been close, but nothing inappropriate had happened. How did Alisha get wind of such information?
Sensing his confusion, Alisha laughed. “Abrial told me herself! I asked her what her relationship with you was, and she said she’s your mistress.”
Shocked, Ashton quickly dialed Abrial’s number. “Abrial, what have you been telling Alisha? When did you become my mistress?”
On the other end, Abrial burst out laughing. “I wasn’t making things up. Didn’t Rosalie give her approval back…”
Without giving Ashton a moment to respond, Abrial continued, “If there’s nothing else, I’m going to hang up. Our company is dealing with some issues, and I need to focus on that. Just enjoy your time with Alisha!” And with that, Abrial ended the call.
