Chapter 662
Chapter 662:
The cries dwindled as silence took over. Fraser’s lethal concoction seemed to have taken its toll on everyone present.
Shortly after, a number of individuals began to stir and stand—these were Fraser’s allies, aware of the plot from the start. They had feigned consuming the poisoned refreshments to blend in without suspicion.
Amidst the lifeless bodies, the moles and members of the Dark Night Organization disguised as servers began to celebrate their grim victory.
“We’ve done it! Even if they survive, they’ll be incapacitated for life. Once this gets out, even those high-ranking officials who weren’t here today will be forced to step down.”
“That’s right! With the Staville government under our control, the Dark Night Organization will dominate the city.”
“And not just Staville. Remember, Staville is a major city of the state; controlling it means cities like Inewood and beyond will soon follow.”
In his delight, Fraser emerged from hiding to commend his followers on their faultless execution.
But before Fraser could praise them, the sound of rapid footsteps approached from outside.
“Could the kitchen staff have heard something?” Fraser asked.
“That’s unlikely. After the refreshments were served, we took care of the kitchen staff. Even the security guards were sent away. No one should have realized what happened this quickly.”
Yet, as Hyman finished speaking, a squad of heavily armed special forces stormed into the hall from all directions, quickly securing the area.
The leader scanned the aftermath before barking an order: “Detain anyone found alive here. Regardless of their identity, shoot anyone who resists on sight.”

When a crowd surged in from every direction, panic immediately set in among Fraser and his team. Yet, as a core member of the Dark Hall, Fraser quickly regained his composure.
With a quick smile, he said, “Perfect timing! We’ve just been hit by a terrorist attack, and only a few of us made it out.”
His team quickly supported his claim, one of them saying, “We’re not sure what exactly went wrong. It appears the refreshments were tainted. Thankfully, we didn’t consume much, which is probably why we’re still okay.”
“Enough nonsense! Hands up, or we’ll take action!” shouted the commander of the squad.
Showing frustration, one of Fraser’s men retorted, “We should be focusing on rescuing any other survivors, not squandering time on unfounded suspicions!”
The squad commander snorted, “Our first obligation is to secure the area and ensure safety. Any further objections will be viewed as resistance, and we are authorized to respond with force.”
Fraser’s face was a mask of conflicting emotions, seemingly ready to continue arguing, but he was suddenly silenced.
From behind the squad, a figure stepped forward with a taunting smirk.
