No one there had expected such a result. Isaac alone had unwavering faith in Ashton, yet even he was taken aback by the thoroughness of Ashton’s victory. It was truly a flawless demonstration of control.
Ashton maintained the lead from the beginning to the end of the race without faltering once. Driving a standard, unaltered car, he still outshone his competitor in every way.
Upon parking, Ashton stepped out of the car with elegance and gave Isaac a knowing wink. Isaac, brimming with excitement, rushed over to celebrate with a high-five—a long-awaited moment. While massaging Ashton’s shoulders, Isaac burst out laughing.
“Ashton, you were phenomenal! I was concerned you might have lost your edge after being away from racing for so long, but you crushed him. He didn’t stand a chance!”
Ashton responded with a light chuckle, “Missing a few meals doesn’t mean you forget how to eat, right?”
At that moment, the other car finally limped across the finish line, its arrival almost an afterthought. Truth be told, Mountain Dog hadn’t performed poorly; indeed, his time would have been a challenge for many there. But today, his opponent was Ashton.
Liam, who had never anticipated a defeat, especially not one so embarrassing, had trained Mountain Dog to master this mountain track. Yet, they lost to an ordinary car by over ten seconds!
This crushing defeat etched a scowl on Liam’s face as he approached Mountain Dog’s car. He yanked the car door open with a furious glare and roughly dragged Mountain Dog out. Liam began to kick Mountain Dog’s head relentlessly, continuing even as blood began to flow from his nose and mouth.
He cursed repeatedly, “You worthless piece of trash! You’re good for nothing! I’ve spent a fortune training you, and you can’t even outperform a simple car. What use are you to me?”

Isaac’s frown deepened at the scene. He swiftly moved away from Ashton and stepped in to pull Liam back.
Liam shot Isaac a furious look and shouted, “What the hell are you doing? Why are you interfering with my disciplining this fool?”
Isaac responded with a calm smile, “How you manage your men is your concern, not mine. I’m here to ensure you honor our bet. According to our deal, had I lost, I would kneel, apologize, and even polish your shoes with my tongue. Since you lost, you owe me an apology and a promise to stay out of my path. It’s time for you to start apologizing.”
Liam’s face contorted with anger, visibly battling to hold it back. Isaac figured that Liam wouldn’t dare renege on their agreement in front of the gathered crowd. However, in the next moment, a dangerous light flickered in Liam’s eyes.
He scoffed, “A bet? What bet? I don’t recall any bet. What are you lot standing around for? Get them!”
Upon Liam’s order, his men swiftly encircled Ashton and Isaac. Isaac, taken aback by this betrayal, confronted Liam angrily. “Liam Walker! What’s happening here? Are you going back on your word?”
Liam responded with a derisive chuckle, “Have you lost your mind? Have you forgotten who I am? I thrive on breaking rules and shaking things up. I was merely being courteous for your family’s sake. If you admit defeat and apologize, I might overlook this entire ordeal. How dare you beat me? Since you’ve shown me no respect, why should I let you off easily?”
Isaac was stunned by Liam’s audacity, openly dishonoring their wager in front of everyone. His face flushed with rage as he clenched his teeth. “You deceitful coward! Everyone here is aware of the terms. How can you simply dismiss them?”
Liam, unfazed and smirking, retorted, “Don’t assume your family’s wealth puts you above others. Here, power and strength rule. I dictate the terms on this turf. The bet is off because I say so. I’ll offer you a last chance. Kneel, say sorry, and plead for mercy. Otherwise, both of you won’t be leaving here unscathed!”
