Chapter 798
Chapter 798:
Stephen scoffed, his tone dripping with impatience. “I think you’ve both completely lost your minds. You’re hopeless cases now—don’t try to drag me down with you. That money is mine, and no one’s going to cheat me out of it!”
Seeing Stephen’s unyielding stance and utter lack of trust, Leonardo and Hamlin exchanged resigned glances.
“Let it go, Leonardo,” Hamlin said with a weary sigh. “Mr. Baldwin was right—everyone has their own fate. We can’t force him to see reason.”
Leonardo nodded solemnly. “I understand your doubts, Stephen. We’ve done everything we could. Since you refuse to believe us, we won’t trouble you anymore.”
With that, the two turned and walked away, their steps heavy with helplessness.
For some inexplicable reason, as Stephen watched the retreating figures of his old friends, he caught a faint trace of sadness in their demeanor.
But instead of feeling moved, Stephen’s lips curled into a cold sneer.
Those two traitors were still putting on an act, pretending to care about him. Since they had chosen to side with Ashton, they were no longer his friends—they were his enemies now. And they had no right to blame him for being ruthless.
With this thought solidifying in his mind, Stephen swiftly scrolled through his phone, finding Red Jack’s number. Without hesitation, he dialed. “Hey, Red Jack, are you available now? I have something to discuss with you!”
Red Jack quickly accepted Stephen’s invitation to the Crawford family residence, but as they met once again, Stephen couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling that something was off. The Red Jack standing before him was nothing like the one he remembered.
Stephen had only crossed paths with Red Jack a few times, but he’d always been struck by Red Jack’s rebellious, almost reckless nature. The man had always been cynical, almost like a troublemaker who enjoyed chaos.
But now, Red Jack’s usual smug grin was absent. His face looked hollow, his eyes distant and full of unease. It was as though he was still haunted by the crushing defeat he’d suffered at Ashton’s hands just two days ago.

Stephen, however, couldn’t help but feel a small sense of satisfaction at seeing Red Jack like this. It was an opportunity, and he intended to make the most of it.
Breaking the silence, Red Jack managed a weak smile. “So, Mr. Crawford, what exactly is it that you wanted to discuss? Are you planning to try and take the secret treasure back from me?”
Stephen shook his head, his tone cool. “One treasure won’t be enough to make my wish come true. To accomplish that, I need all three. The other two are now in Ashton’s possession. I think it’s time we teamed up again to take him down.”
The mention of Ashton’s name instantly changed Red Jack’s demeanor. His face tightened, but he didn’t speak, choosing instead to remain silent and still.
Stephen couldn’t understand what was going on with Red Jack, so he continued, “I’ve made my next wish clear; it’s for immortality and eternal youth. And I can share it with you. Leonardo, Hamlin, and I shared the same wish of becoming billionaires back then. If you’re on my side, I’ll grant you the wish of immortality. Together, we can live forever.”
