Chapter 263
Feena's heart sank when she heard Jack's compliment. She looked at him pointedly and asked, "Aren't you jealous?"
This reminded him of how he'd confessed his feelings for her by the riverside. He could face it without batting an eye now, though. Besides, he was dating Bella now, and it was clear that Feena had let go of the past if she could bring it up.
Since she'd moved on, why did he have to get his panties in a twist over it? He smiled and said, "Nope. Don't forget I'm getting it on with a beautiful woman from my university's music faculty now. Speaking of music, did you get any of the things I said earlier?"
She said, "Of course. Thanks, Jack. How are you and your girlfriend doing, actually?"
"Not too bad. We're progressing well," Jack answered.
"That's good." Feena continued, "I understand all the edits you make, so thanks for that. I should head back if there isn't anything else. Let's talk some other time."
Jack nodded. "Yeah. You should head back and dress your best-there's a grand confession event waiting for you tonight!"
"It's none of your business. I'll deal with that myself." She rolled her eyes at him before flouncing off.
Though she wanted to tell him how she felt, she'd ultimately kept the words to herself. She didn't think it was right for her to make the first move-it'd be best if he could confess to her again. Before that day arrived, she would display her best self and hope he would pursue her again.
As for the confession she'd already mustered up the courage to make? That could go to hell.
Jack spent the rest of the afternoon lazing in his dormitory. That night, he heard Bjorn had used 999 candles to form a gigantic heart outside Feena's dormitory building. He'd also invited many big shots to make the event grander.
The confession caused a sensation across campus, but he knew nothing of the outcome. All he knew was that it had caused many couples to get into fights and even break up—the women felt their boyfriends had never been that romantic.
Bella heard about the confession, too. One morning, she sat on the backseat of Jack's bicycle as they stopped by the lake. She held him tightly and asked, "Will you put together a grand proposal to ask me to marry you in the future?"
He chuckled. "I'm not that romantic."
This upset her a little. She thumped his back, but it soon transformed into a passionate makeout session.
They leaned into each other's arms, and Bella felt like she could drown in Jack's embrace as she greedily breathed in his unique scent. They stayed there until night fell before cycling back to campus together.
On the way back, Bella sounded almost dreamlike as she asked softly, "What if we encounter an insurmountable obstacle in the future, Big Bun? Will you have the courage to face and overcome it?"
After some thought, Jack told her he would do his best. The answer evidently got her down, though.
Meanwhile, Queenie and Joshua had gotten back together after the difficult phase they had. She and Hector had called it quits after their last fight-she'd chosen to go back to Joshua after that.
After all, his family background was the only thing that he lacked in comparison with Hector. Other than that, he was a pretty good choice. More importantly, he had the courage to go up against Hector for Queenie's sake. That had moved her. Chapters first released on find⦿novel.net
