Chapter 277
Ray immediately expressed his agreement. He said, "My place isn't far from yours, Bella. Can I go over to see you if I ever have the time? I'd like to discuss some education-related matters with you."
He was blatantly trying to steal Bella from Jack. However, she couldn't exactly say no because he was using their studies as an excuse.
Still, she glanced at Jack before shaking her head. "We can talk about that some other time."
Ray refused to give up. "You know, I know some of Alnewgo University's presidential-level student council members and many people from the Entrepreneurs Association. You can always come to me for help if you run into trouble on campus. I'm sure throwing the Entrepreneurs Association's weight around will make dealing with things on campus much easier."
He looked smug at the mention of the Entrepreneurs Association. After all, everyone at Alnewgo University knew what a prestigious establishment it was. Read full story at f͟i͟n͟d͟n͟o͟v͟e͟l͟.net
Arianna added, "I've heard of the association, too. Its members are all accomplished entrepreneurs-many of them have obtained venture capital and have already become proper businessmen or women."
Clarice nodded, indicating her understanding and approval of the Entrepreneurs Association. In reality, many of the entrepreneurs who now held power in Alnewgo's business world had graduated from Alnewgo University. They'd also experienced being members of the Entrepreneurs Association.
In other words, one would already be halfway to success upon joining the association.
Just then, another woman named Michelle Green spoke up, not wanting to seem inadequate. "My son, Hunter, is doing pretty well, too. He's studying at the University of Political Science and Law and is on the class committee. He's also part of the student council and gets scholarships every year."
Hunter Weller was handsome, too. He looked quiet and gentle, but there was something charming about him. He turned to glance at Bella upon hearing his mother's praise, but Bella was focused on her food. All she did was nod in response-it was almost as if Hunter was nothing but a stranger to her.
His heart sank at that, and his hostility toward Jack intensified.
Meanwhile, another woman started bragging about her son. "My son doesn't spend too much time on socializing, but he throws himself into his studies. His university provided an opportunity to study abroad, and his mentor had high hopes for him he wanted to recommend him for a postgraduate program at Plyss University!
"It's too bad my boy preferred Regent University in Angleria. I don't really care where he studies, of course. All I've done is prepare a fund of five million dollars for him. If he exceeds that amount while he's studying abroad, he can work to make up for the shortfall..."
The women expressed their admiration when they heard that.
Arianna didn't want to let anyone steal Ray's thunder. She said, "That's definitely a great opportunity, but Ray doesn't care about going too far academically-his dream is to become an internationally renowned CEO. Maybe your son can get a managerial position in his company in the future."
She sounded like she was complimenting the woman's son, but her words carried a negative undertone. She hinted that no matter how well-educated the woman's son was, he would ultimately have to work for Ray.
The woman smiled and said dismissively, "Oh, that's not necessary. My son is more interested in pharmaceutical research and development-unskilled work bores him."
Arianna stopped obsessing over the matter. She turned to look at Jack before asking Bella, "Is this your classmate, Bella?"
"Yeah. He's my boyfriend. His name is Jack Holland," Bella answered. She felt a little nervous. She was worried the women would pick on Jack.
