Why would I even think she’s cheating on me? Why didn’t I stop and think things through, or wait to confront them? I left in anger when nothing even happened. That’s a big shame on me.

“I’m… I’m sorry for not listening to you, and I made you rush down here,” I said, feeling guilty.

She smiled a bit, making my heart melt.

“It’s fine, and I’m sorry as well. You were right to be angry. Anyone in your shoes would be,” she replied.

“I’m sorry for letting another man touch me in your absence, and also sorry for making you feel insecure,” she said, looking guilty.

“Let’s just forget about this. We’re both sorry. Let’s just move on from this.”

“I really missed you,” she said, hugging me tightly to herself.

“Gummy bear missed you more. He’s always asking after you,” I said.

Mr. Mico must have something very important to say.

Emily’s POV

We slowly walked back to the mansion, heading straight to Mr. Mico. As we took the stroll, I couldn’t help but wonder why he wanted to see us. He doesn’t request our presence unless there is something very important to discuss, and I was eager to find out what it was.

I had been on my way here last night after speaking with Christian, but then something came up, and I decided to change my route.

It’s a good thing I did because I managed to achieve something else—something I have always wanted. I had to tend to it and come back here as soon as I could because I knew Tristan would be upset with me, and a little surprised too.

“Good morning, sir,” I greeted Mr. Mico as soon as we entered the sitting room, where he was waiting patiently for us to arrive.
