Chapter 1013
Otto frowned. "I get what you're saying, but that's only happening overseas. In our country, there's no way a company that runs a scam operation would be around."
Durban frowned, looking into the doorway. The unfinished place was in shambles as if danger were lurking within.
He swallowed. "I might have watched too many videos lately, but I keep seeing stuff about scam operations abusing and even killing people. I'm probably just paranoid at this point.
"I'm not going in there, but feel free to proceed. Still, I'd warn you not to go in."
Otto looked at Durban and then at the door frame. He grinned. "Guess neither of us is going in."
Durban felt a weight lifted off his shoulders. "Glad you're on the same page, but what do we do next? If we expose the injustice we have faced, none of the
registered hospitals in Lambda City would take us in. How about we try looking for a job in another city?"
Otto shook his head. "Let's put that aside for now. We'll deal with it after we get through today's interview."
Durban frowned. "You said it yourself, neither of us is going in. How are we supposed to attend the interview?"
Otto coldly replied, "Why can't we go for the interview? Even if we stay out, they'll come out. We'll just stand here and wait."
Durban shook his head. "It's a hospital that can't even afford to renovate its building. They're that broke, so the pay must be awful. I'm starting to doubt if they can even pay us."
Right then, footsteps echoed from inside the building.
Otto frowned and looked at the door frame, spotting a young man coming out. The cement floor was covered in dust, with a few footprints left behind.
As the young man walked out, dust kicked up behind him.
Otto took a careful look at the young man's outfit-it was pretty ordinary. Judgin by how casually he walked
like he was at home, Otto figured he must be part of the hospital.
Watching the young man walk out of the doorway, Otto sported a smile and walked over "Hello, I'm here for an interview. Are you hiring here?"
doctors
Matthew nodded. "Yes, we're hiring. I'm the person handling the recruitment."
He wanted to establish a new approach to traditional medicine integrating modern and traditional medicine. He had the medical literature from Eight Medical Sects and the support of the heirs.
The only thing he needed was a doctor with expertise in modern medicine. That was the whole point of this recruitment.
Otto froze for a moment and said excitedly, "Great. Here's my resume. Please have a look."
Matthew took the resume, and his eyes lit up at first glance. "You're a perfect fit. When can you start?"
Otto was overjoyed. "T-That's great. I'm ready to start whenever."
Durban hurriedly nudged Otto's arm. "Hold on. You haven't discussed the pay yet."
He motioned toward the unrenovated building, reminding Otto that this was a hospital that couldn't afford to fix it up.
Otto turned to Matthew. "This is Durban. He's applying too, but he's worried about the pay."
Durban interrupted. "I'm not here for the interview. My salary expectation is at least 10 thousand dollars. Your company can't afford that."
Otto flashed an awkward smile at Matthew. "Sorry about that. My friend can be a blunt, and he's got a pretty high salary expectations—"
Matthew grinned. "That's an acceptable range. Our starting salary here is 20 thousand dollars."
