Chapter 975
Upon hearing Pierre's words, Matthew responded without hesitation, "Alright. I'll take you on as my apprentice."
Out of everyone Matthew had known, Pierre had the most heartfelt dedication to medicine, especially when it wasn't just about medical expertise.
Pierre couldn't stand how the hospital would raise prices by a ridiculous amount just by changing the medication's name. He also hated how the hospital focused on running more tests on patients just to make more profit.
What disgusted Pierre the most was the practice of charging patients expensive medicine that didn't cure their condition while it wasn't harmful to their health.
At first glance, the diaries seemed to be filled with his personal grudges, but it was actually all about a doctor's compassion and sticking to his principles.
Matthew felt lucky to have Pierre as his apprentice.
Meanwhile, Pierre didn't expect things to go so smoothly. He eagerly promised, "You can trust me, Mr. Grant. I'll work hard to learn medicine and won't let you down." Matthew hurried over and helped Pierre to his feet. "Many people are watching us. Quickly get up."
Pierre glanced around, then said casually, "I've gotten used to this kind of stare."
Thinking back to how Pierre had no problem running his consultation in the hospital hallway, Matthew figured he wouldn't be bothered by it. "Let's leave this place first." Matthew and Pierre started making their way out of the town. On the road, Matthew kept a blank expression behind the wheel, but he was actually quite excited.
Matthew had finally collected the medical literature and legacy items from the Eight Medical Sects. It was finally time to meet Nicholas, and he couldn't wait to ask Nicholas three questions.
Who exactly was Nicholas? What was so special about Juprus Ring and Juprus Blade? Now that Matthew had gathered all the medical books and items from the Eight Medical Sects, what would come next?
The car sped down the road, racing toward Lambda City.
Sitting in the car, Pierre was lost in thought about his time with Alyssa, feeling like there was a weight on his chest.
After thinking about Alyssa for a while, Pierre started thinking about all the things that had happened since graduating from college. After joining a hospital, he felt like he was stuck, as if he was sinking into quicksand.
Pierre couldn't even do the simplest part of being a doctor-treating and saving patients. Would he face this issue again in the future?
...
Inside a lab, the big screen on the wall was playing something unusual. The content displayed wasn't weird, but it was a lab setting.
The screen usually showed the plans for the research project, data analysis, and reviews of the experiments conducted.
But at this point, the screen showed something totally out of the blue-brick breaking.
A shirtless, burly man in gym shorts was talking on the screen. "Ladies and gentlemen. As the legendary Iron Fist, I'm going to do something that noone in the world could ever copy. After I pulled it off, if anyone can replicate it, I'll go live eating poop."
Right after he said that, the chat went crazy. People were saying all kinds of stuff.
"Nice try. If you want to eat shit, just say it. Why bother to make a bet?"
"It's him again. I can tell straight away that it's about breaking bricks. Honestly, this dude is amazing at it. He's the best streamer I've come across in short videos."
"With those muscles and shirt off, you look quite enticing. It's just what I need."
"Enough talking. I'm already starving, so just show me your performance. After this is over, I'm going to grab some food."
A bunch of people sat in the lab. Sitting at the front, Leander turned to Tessa and remarked, "The streamer is great at breaking bricks. He's gained five million followers just from smashing bricks. How many bricks do you think he can break today?" Content bétongs
Tessa loved watching beauty and fashion streamers in her downtime. When he stumbled upon a video of an idiot smashing bricks, she would just skip and water the other videos.
After some time, she didn't see videos like this anymore. With so many researchers gathered that day, Tessa couldn't believe Leander made everyone watch this.
Tessa couldn't figure out what Leander was thinking, so she went ahead and asked, "Is there a deeper meaning behind watching this, Mr. Farburg?"
Leander chuckled. "Of course. Hold on. Let's watch the streamer break bricks first."
The streamer set the bricks on the table, one at a time. When he got to four, he suddenly stopped and faced the camera.
"I'm going all in today-100 beers for a brick. Send them, and I'll stack the bricks. Let's get those gifts rolling."
