Chapter 979
Feeling puzzled, Tessa withdrew her fist.
Some cracks appeared on the bricks at the top of the pillar. Over time, they got bigger, turning the bricks into smaller chunks. Eventually, the bricks came crashing down like an avalanche.
The top six layers of bricks turned into rubble and slid off. The layers beneath cracked apart, breaking the pillar made of bricks.
The smoke and dust kicked up, spreading out like a thick fog. The spectating researchers quickly scattered.
Tessa wanted to escape, but she had nowhere to go because she was still on the scaffolding.
She thought about jumping but felt nervous. All she could do was cover her mouth and nose to protect herself from the dust, waiting for it to settle.
The brick pillar they had just stacked turned into a pile of rubble, leaving only the bottom seven layers intact.
Watching the scene unfold, Tessa was shocked beyond words.
Leander looked at the result of the punch, trembling with excitement. He couldn't help but yell, "We did it. We actually pulled it off."
Tessa stared at the exoskeleton wrapped around her fist and murmured, "Can you take this punch, Matthew?"
The researchers took photos to capture the moment. Everyone was excitedly celebrating their success. It was a pretty lively scene.
After things settled down, Leander announced, "We did it, everyone. No more worrying about money anymore. Things are about to get real good.
'You've all worked hard these past few years. I'm giving everyone a week off starting
now.
"I'll head out to find an investor who understands the value. After seven days, I'll deliver on all the promises I've made to you."
Everyone cheered and celebrated. This was the moment they'd been waiting for. It was finally time to see the results.
Leander waited for the crowd to quiet down before saying, "I've got a flight to catch, so you all can take a day off. If anyone hasn't finished their work, stay behind and finish it.
"Of course. I'm just saying if that happens. Alright. That's all. I'm leaving.
Leander waved his hand and walked away. Everyone else started discussing what
to do with their time off as they made their way down.
Two workers collected their pay and started cleaning up the mess.
...
Two hours later, a woman wearing gloves sat at the window seats in the coffee shop across from Gembrooke Building.

Her hands were bigger than most women's, probably even bigger than a man and she had broad
shoulders, and her arms looked solid and
powerful.
A waitress came over with a cup of coffee and gently set it down. "Enjoy your drink."
As the waitress spoke, she glanced at the woman a little. She was gorgeous but
with a larger build, giving off a tall and muscular impression.
The thing that stood out to the waitress was how the woman sat on the couch, leaving a deep dent in it.
The waitress couldn't believe how heavy the woman was to make the couch look like that.
Tessa hummed in acknowledgment. "Thank you. I'll call you if I need something."
The waitress told the woman to take her time and walked away.
Tessa looked through the transparent glass, watching the entrance of Gembrooke Building across the street.
Since it was time to clock out, people poured out of the building like a torrent. Tessa glanced at their faces, trying to spot Matthew.
...
At Opulent Club, Matthew led Pierre straight inside.
Pierre, like a country bumpkin, was amazed by everything he saw, his eyes darting everywhere. He
persistently asked, "I heard normal
