Chapter 991

A sinister smile crept across Tessa's face as she said, "Matthew, when we got married, you promised to love me forever. Are you even a man?

"It's only been a few years, and you've lost all care for me. On top of that, you've become so mean and bitter."

Matthew shifted his gaze from the elevator wall to Tessa's face, looking at her as if she were some kind of monster. He stated firmly, "We're divorced!"

"You said forever," Tessa responded coldly. "As long as I'm alive, that promise stands. You can't go back on your word!"

Matthew's patience was wearing thin. They were divorced, yet she still demanded his love. He snapped, "Have you lost your mind?"

Tessa's face twitched, thinking that the harsher his words, the more brutal her revenge would be. She shot back, "You're the one who's lost it. Hiding all that money from me."

She added, "That's ten billion dollars! You never planned to share our life together."

Matthew felt his anger reaching a boiling point. "Tessa, I told you about it, but you didn't believe me. You said you'd believe me if I said it was 100 dollars, but ten billion dollars was impossible.

"You never believe what I say, and now you're turning everything around? You... You're a lunatic!"

Matthew despised how Tessa seemed to have forgotten everything that had happened, how she only blamed him and found ways to slander him. In her mind, every fault was his, regardless of the facts.

Tessa's hatred intensified with each passing moment. In her mind, an automated voice seemed to be counting.

"Rage increasing... Rage increasing... Rage increasing..." Each increment made her feel more satisfied, knowing it would translate into pain for Matthew.

Soon, the elevator reached the top floor. Matthew stepped out first, heading toward the stairs that led to the roof.

Tessa followed, pressing him further, "Do you know that I lost my business because of you? If you had just loaned me money when I needed it, my company wouldn't have gone bankrupt!"

Matthew stopped and turned to face her, dumbfounded by her twisted logic. The company he had built, which she had taken from him, had failed under her management- tland now she blamed him for notending her money.

"We don't need to go up," he said firmly. "Whatever you have to say, I don't want to hear it. Just leave!"

They were just a few steps from the

rooftop, and Matthew's cold dismissal hit her like a slap. Tessa

felt her anger peaked, and she looked up at Matthew, who stood several steps above her.

She snarled, "Matthew! Do you think I'm the same person as before? You're wrong. You can't mess with who I am today! And yet you keep provoking me. You're going to regret this!"

Matthew smirked as he stared her down. "You? What could you possibly do?"

Tessa responded with a twisted smile. She unbuttoned her clothes to reveal a metallic exoskeleton underneath.

Matthew's eyes widened in disbelief as Tessa removed her gloves and even her pants, revealing the full mechanical sunt. She stood there, encased from head to toe, in a futuristic, robot-like exoskeleton.

With a slow, deliberate motion, she clenched her fist, as the steel joints creaked and the metal fingers scraped against her palm.

She threatened, "Matthew, I can crush 70 layers of brick with one punch. Your flesh and bones won't stand a chance. I'm going to make you suffer for the rest of your life!"

As she raised her fist to charge, a large boot suddenly filled her vision, growing larger until it completely blocked her sight.

With a loud thud, the boot slammed into her face, and Tessa collapsed straight backward onto the stairs.
