After finishing the afternoon meeting. I asked my Beta where Raelyn was, only to learn she was still at the security booth.

I nearly spit out my water hearing that I was sipping tea inside Thomas’s booth when he hit me with that line. “No way, Thomas. What’s so great about a walking iceberg like him?”

Thomas looked at me and sighed. “Your father passed away early. All of us old folks from Shadow Pack just want to see you settle down sooner rather than later.”
