Chapter 1059

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Josefina rushed back and was taken aback by the conversation she overheard between the two guys.

"Are these folks always this hilarious when they're together?" she thought, amused.

Finley noticed Josefina coming in and waved his arms like a kid spotting a long-lost friend. "Sis-in-law, thank goodness you're here! I was about to lose it!"

Logan, clutching a bottle of ointment, dashed over to Josefina. "Master, I tried to put some ointment on him to speed up his recovery, but he wasn't having it and even tried to throw hands!"

Logan looked genuinely distressed. "Master, he pushed me away!"

Finley raised an eyebrow. "Hey, you little rascal, it was you who tried to shove me. Look at the mess you made of my clothes!"

With a dramatic flair, Finley tossed the blanket aside, revealing his shirt, now an off- shoulder masterpiece with a couple of gaping holes in the stomach area. Josefina's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Seriously?" she thought but tried to keep a straight face.

Seeing her amusement, Finley felt a bit embarrassed. "Sis-in-law, cut it out with the giggles, will ya?"

Josefina tried her hardest not to laugh, thinking, "Who, me? Laughing? Never!"

She turned to Logan. "Come on, let's step outside for a bit."

Logan followed her out like an obedient puppy. In a hushed tone, Josefina explained, "Logan, it's sweet of you to want to help Finley with the ointment, but you gotta ask him first. If he's not cool with it, you can't just go ahead and do it, got it?"

Logan nodded, looking a bit confused but eager to please. "I get it, Master. I'll go apologize."

Just as he turned to head back, Josefina stopped him. "Hold on, don't go back in there. I think Finley's had enough excitement for one day."

Logan was genuinely just trying to help, but Finley seemed on edge.

"Hey, Logan, the chef whipped up some barbecue. How about we go grab a bite?"

At the mention of food, Logan's face lit up, and he quickly forgot about the easier fiasco. Relieved that she managed to lighten the mood, Josefina led him to the barbecue.

Meanwhile, Cole and Makiko arrived at Oliver's estate with gifts in hand, only to be stopped by security.

With a friendly smile, Cole said, "I'm a friend of Oliver's, Cole."

"Just a moment," the guard replied.

He radioed in, "Linden, there are two visitors claiming to be friends of Mr. Oliver, Cole and Makiko. Should we let them in?"

Linden, after a quick check, confirmed their identities. "Yep, let them in. They're indeed Mr. Oliver's guests. Treat them nicely, alright?"

"Got it."

The guard returned with a polite smile. "Right this way, please."

He personally chauffeured them in a golf cart. As they rode along, Cole admired the surroundings Even with winter knocking, the estate was lush and full of life.

Makiko took in the scenery, noting the estate's elegant design. In

Japanese, she commented, "net

scenery here is stunning, and the atmosphere is just lovely

Cole nodded. "Oliver's got a real knack for this stuff. The garden's a real treat for the eyes."

Makiko's expression flickered with something unreadable before she quickly looked away.

...

When Josefina heard about Makiko's visit, she quickly slipped into her long coat. "I'll meet them in the garden pavilion."

Linden chimed in, "Shall I bring some tea and snacks over? And maybe invite Harry and Asher too?"

"Yes, having Harry and Asher would be nice. Keep it subtle, though. We don't want to make Cole and Makiko uncomfortable."
