Chapter 1072

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

The vibe between Josefina and Oliver was getting all warm and cozy, and she could feel the steady beat of his heart, strong and sure.

"Hey Josie, you're leaning a bit too much to the side," Oliver teased with a playful grin.

"Hmm?" Josefina replied, a little lost in the moment.

"Your attention should be right here, on me," he laughed.

Josefina playfully tapped his nose. "Oliver, are you getting jealous?"

She sat up, teasing him further, "I swear, in a past life, you must've owned a vinegar factory with how sour you get sometimes."

Oliver chuckled and pulled her back close. "I must've been running it with you!"

Josefina giggled at his cheeky comment and tried to stand up to get some water, but Oliver was quicker, grabbing a glass of warm water for her.

"Next time, just ask. I'll get it for you," he said with a wink.

She couldn't help but admire how his long legs made everything look so effortless.

"I feel like stretching my legs a bit," she said, sipping from the glass and plopping down comfortably on the plush carpet.

Oliver scooped her up with ease. "Let's get you to bed. You've had a long day." Josefina yawned, realizing just how exhausted she was.

...

Meanwhile, Hattie was glued to her phone, while Garrett had just removed his glasses.

"Hattie, staring at that screen too long isn't great for your eyes. You're usually not so hooked-what's going on?"

"I'm checking out some self-defense stuff online. I want to make sure our daughter can protect herself," she replied, her voice thoughtful.

Garrett leaned over, noticing her search history full of items like machetes and pepper spray.

The shopping cart was packed, and Garrett felt overwhelmed just looking at it. "Hattie, why not just get some bodyguards instead of all this gear?"

"Bodyguards are great, but they're not always close by in an emergency," Hattie said, clicking to finalize her order.

Garrett sighed. "You know, you might get a cramp opening all those packages."

Hattie waved him off. "Oh please, we've got help for that. The staff can handle the unboxing."

Garrett mentally kicked himself for forgetting that detail.

"You know, it still bothers me how

much on

daughter's had to endure.

If we hadn't been so careless before, none of this

Wot have happened."

Garrett gently patted her arm, comforting her. "What's done is done. We'll face whatever comes, together."

Hattie nodded, feeling a bit reassured, and they both settled in for the night.

The next morning, before the sun had fully-fisen, Annika armed herself with two kitchen knives, with Kelsey trailing behind as they approached the room where the woman was held.

Adam was startled at the sight.

"Annika, Kelsey, what are you doing with those?"

Annika repfìed with determination, need to see if she's awake. We can't let her harm Ms. Josefina. I want to understand the situation before reporting back."

Kelsey nervously clutched an iron rod. "I'm just worried she might go wild."

Adam hesitated. "Ladies, maybe the professionals should handle this."

Despite her nerves, Kelsey pushed forward, showing bravery in her own way.

As they spoke, the sound of something breaking inside the room made everyone jump.

Adam's senses heightened, and he cautiously approached the door, weapon at the ready.

Once he confirmed it was safe, he peeked inside and gasped, "Quick, get Mr. Oliver and Ms. Josefina here!"
