Chapter 1087

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

"Oliver, this isn't a bed; it's a car," Josefina whispered softly.

Since Josefina got pregnant, poor Oliver had been dreaming of a decent meal. All he could manage was sipping on broth while imagining a hearty steak dinner. To ease his anxiety, he'd sometimes reach out to touch Josefina.

Holding Josefina close, Oliver buried his head in her fragrant hair, as if it were some kind of life-saving remedy.

Josefina gently patted his head, "Come on, get up now. We're almost home."

Today, they were heading back to the Harrison family estate. Mason was still staying there, and Josefina needed to keep an eye on her health.

Oliver reluctantly let go of Josefina and settled her back into her seat. Josefina glanced sideways at Oliver and thought to herself: what a charming rogue.

When the car arrived at the Harrison estate, Oliver and Josefina stepped out. The living room was warm and inviting. Josefina shed her coat as Annika brought over two steaming bowls of chicken soup, a thin layer of oil floating on top.

"Ms. Josefina, have some chicken soup to warm up," Annika said, quickly retreating afterward. Every time Annika saw Oliver near Ms. Josefina, she felt a weight pressing on her, making it hard to act naturally.

Josefina chuckled, "Oliver, try to lighten up a bit, maybe crack a smile."

Oliver shrugged helplessly. He just couldn't bring himself to smile around others. Josefina didn't push him. She took a sip of the chicken soup, savoring its rich and delicious flavor.

Just then, Tori called out urgently from outside, "Ms. Josefina." Instead of entering, Tori stayed at the door.

Josefina was about to stand up when Oliver gently pressed her shoulder, signaling her to stay seated. "I'll go see what's up," he said, striding over to the door.

Tori wasn't surprised to see Oliver and quickly filled him in. "While patrolling the perimeter, I discovered some black bugs," Tori explained.

Oliver remembered Josefina mentioning that Mason had some kind of parasite and that those looking for him might use these bugs to track him down.

"Mr. Oliver, this is serious. I think Ms. Josefina should be informed," Tori insisted. They couldn't handle this bug problem alone.

"Keep an eye on things," Oliver

instructed before heading back to the dining area to

had finished tell Josefina She

her soup and was

already slipping on her down jacket, preparing to head out.

Oliver joined her, calling Harry and

Asher to come along. With night et

vision goggles on, they could see clearly in the dark, perfect for their bug hunt content

Josefina handed out tools, "When you spot a bug, use these soft-tipped tongs to catch it. Then place it in the glass container."

"Got it, Ms. Josefina," they all nodded in agreement. With instructions clear, they split up to avoid drawing attention.

Oliver whispered, "If the bugs can find us here, those people are definitely targeting the Harrison family."

"You're right, which is why we need to throw them off," Josefina replied.

Oliver was puzzled until Josefina

began to act. The plan was simple:

make it look like the bugs were

visiting every house. Josefina

ensured each doorstep had a couple of bugs.

Not just that, she even sprinkled some bug-repellent powder at each entrance to

keep the bugs from actually getting inside.

"You're such a clever little trickster," Oliver admired.

Josefina raised her chin defiantly, "I am the cleverest."

Unable to resist her charm, Oliver playfully tapped her nose. "Oliver, stop it! I'm

worried my nose might lose its perfect shape," Josefina laughed.
