Chapter 1166

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

As Livia tried to search the suspect, the woman wasn't having any of it and made a run for it. But Finley was quick on his feet. He stepped forward, placing a firm foot on the woman's knee, sending her sprawling to the ground. Livia seized the moment, gripping the woman's arm tightly.

With Finley's help, Livia managed to keep her restrained and began searching her belongings. Sure enough, she found a bottle of pills hidden in the woman's bag. Right then, someone dialed 911.

Livia quickly found some rope and expertly tied the woman up. Finley used the opportunity to pull out his phone and make a call. "Livia, don't worry. I'll sort this out. You should get out of here."

But Livia brushed off Finley's suggestion. She snapped a photo of the pills and sent it to Josefina, asking Percy to swing by and pick them up for testing. As for the woman, Livia was determined to stick around and make sure she cooperated with the investigation.

Finley didn't leave either. He grabbed a chair and settled in. Addressing the bystanders, he urged, "Come on, folks, someone call the cops. We need to get to the bottom of this. Hurry up and make the call."

The crowd was unsure, hesitating between calling the authorities or slipping away. Amidst the commotion, someone quietly slipped away, using the chaos to her advantage. Once she was clear, she whipped out her phone.

"The plan's blown. She's been caught," she reported before vanishing without a trace.

Josefina got wind of the news the next morning. Oliver was already at work, and she was driven to the lab where Livia awaited her. The two exchanged quick greetings.

"Josie, you're just in time. Percy told me to wait here; he said the results are in," Livia informed her.

Concern clouded Josefina's face. "Are you alright? Why didn't you tell me about this last night?"

"I'm fine, really. I didn't want to disturb your sleep over something like this."

Just then, Percy appeared with the lab report. "We've got it figured out,' he announced. "Once again, it's connected to those cursed insects. The pill looks like medicine but inside, it's hiding insect larvae."

Everyone knew immediately that Sydney was behind it yet again. Finley rushed in, catching the last part of Percy's explanation.

"These people are truly vicious," Finley burst out. "They're trying to get to Livia through me. Are they mocking my supposed influence over her, or just giving me too much credit?"

Livia remained silent. Neither scenario was true. She didn't give Finley much thought, and he certainly didn't hold any place in her heart.

Despite everything, Livia had to admit Finley's integrity for not siding with those people. He wasn't entirely hopeless after all. Even so, her attitude remained cool and

detached. What Finley did wouldn't

change her perception of him.

Finley glanced at Livia, quickly looking away, hoping she wouldn't notice. "Oliver,

you've got to round up these people. They're terrifying," he urged, genuinely worried about Livia's safety.

If they tried to bribe him today, who's to say they wouldn't find someone else willing to harm Livia tomorrow? The more he thought about it, the more anxious he became, wishing he could whisk Livia away to somewhere safe and sound.
