Chapter 1185

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Rhett rubbed his eyes, trying to make sense of the scene in front of him. He blinked

a few more times, his eyes locked on Oliver, trying to piece it all together.

Incredulous and curious, Rhett finally asked the question that had been nagging him. "Mr. Oliver, are you two... a couple?"

Oliver, unfazed, replied, "And why can't we be?"

Rhett tried to pull Oliver aside, but Oliver shrugged him off. "Just say what you need to say right here, Rhett."

These two had a bit of history. Rhett had once tried to get Oliver to join his team, but despite all his efforts, Oliver had turned him down flat. Now, hearing that Oliver was dating Josefina, known for her fierce reputation, it was hard for Rhett to wrap his head around it.

"Mr. Oliver, you could be with any woman. Why Fiona? Don't you know what she's like? She's tough as nails, sharp-tongued, and as cold as ice. Can she even understand love?"

Oliver's expression turned icy, a dangerous glint in his eyes. "What's the matter, Rhett? Jealous of her?"

"I'm not jealous!" Rhett shot back, teeth clenched.

Oliver smirked, "The way you're talking, it sounds like jealousy."

Rhett scratched his head, feeling more muddled by the minute. He turned to Josefina, "Is Mr. Oliver really your boyfriend?"

Josefina gave a sly grin, "Jealous of how well I'm doing, are you?"

Rhett was momentarily speechless. "What kind of nonsense is that, Fiona? Have some decency."

"Then why do you keep bad-mouthing me?" Josefina retorted, clearly annoyed.

Caught in the middle, Rhett felt the pressure mounting, and this unexpected confrontation left him at a loss.

"Fiona, how did you manage to win over Mr. Oliver?" he whispered, struggling to see what Oliver saw in her. To Rhett, Josefina was more of a tomboy lacking vocal feminine allure. Her fierceness could easily outmatch any man's.

As Rhett puzzled over this, Oliver approached quietly from behind. With an imposing aura, he said, "If you can't use that mouth properly maybe you shouldn't have one. I wouldn't mind helping with that."

Rhett stumbled back, instinctively covering his mouth. Oliver casually took Josefina's hand and with his free hand, snagged the sandwich she was holding.

Josefina turned to Rhett, "And how exactly did you manage to get back into the company? What trick did you pull?"

Rhett refused to answer, making a quick exit from the tense situation.

Oliver made a move to follow, but Josefina stopped him. "Don't waste your time. Even if you ask, you won't get the truth."

Though curious herself, Josefina knew the answers wouldn't come today.

Oliver mused, "I didn't expect Cole to have the pull to get Rhett over here."

Josefina chuckled, "No rush. I know what Rhett's capable of."

Side by side, Oliver and Josefina walked on, discussing their next steps.

...

Meanwhile, Makiko was driving when Rhett called, clearly frustrated. "Why didn't

you tell me Fiona's boyfriend is Oliver? That's kind of an important detail, don't you think?"

Makiko replied, "I thought you knew already."

"What do you mean, you thought? If you don't keep me in the loop about what's happening in Westwood, how am I supposed to know? Makiko, we're partners here, not boss an employee."
