Chapter 1200
They were sprawled out on the ground, feeling like lambs being led to slaughter, completely at the mercy of forces beyond their control. But wasn't their fate in their own hands? Not in Cassandra's!
They gasped for air, even though it was stale, feeling a wave of despair washing over them. "Help me," a weak voice pierced the silence, pleading for salvation. That single cry opened the floodgates, and soon others joined in, their voices rising in a desperate chorus. “Help me...” “President, help us..." "Are you serious? She's the one who got us into this mess-cough..."
Someone started coughing up blood. Josefina spoke up, "I've got some medicine that can ease your symptoms, slow down the toxins from spreading. If you trust me, take it. If not, don't waste it."
Cassandra gritted her teeth. If Josefina gave them medicine now, would they still be loyal to her medical association once they recovered? "No! You can't take her medicine! Absolutely not!" Cassandra shouted.
Josefina shrugged, "Alright, if you don't want it, I'll be on my way." Mandy had already given medicine to a couple of classmates and, hearing the commotion, rushed over. "You're all just lying here waiting to die?"
Mandy's words cut through the crowd, drawing weak gazes her way. Her face was stern, her voice brimming with frustration, "If you're so eager to die, go ahead. You've been exposed to deadly nightshade-there's no coming back from that."
Mandy grabbed Josefina's arm, "Josie, let's go." Just then, Mr. Marquez arrived with backup. It was the weekend, and thankfully the campus was mostly empty. With fewer students around and no teachers, all they could do was wait for the ambulance.
Mr. Marquez hurried over, hearing the chaos, and yelled furiously, "You all have a chance to live, and you don't want it?" The opportunity for survival was right there, and they were ignoring it. What fools!
Josefina added, "Mr. Marquez, they don't want the medicine. Not much else I can do. Might as well cart them to the hospital. Give the crematorium a heads-up; with the crowd today, they might need to work overtime."
Cassandra felt her blood boil. That was aimed directly at her! Josefina was such a little...! Mr. Marquez was icha exasperated, too. He pulled out his phone to report the situation. Josefina handed him a face mask. Without Mr. Marques pat it on. When a big shot gives you something, you know it's gotta be good! He had to wear it! Sharing the same mask as someone important was an honor!

Haylee felt her life slipping away quietly. So she spoke up. "Help me... Josefina.. please, save me." Haylee's plea seemed to break the dam, and others began to voice their true feelings. Why pretend anymore? With death looming, who needs pride? Pride doesn't come with you when you re born, and it doesn't leave with you when you die. What good is it anyway? It was, quite simply, useless.
And so, they began to wail. “Save us...” “Help us...” “Save me..." "Save me first...
I'm dying..." Their cries echoed, a relentless barrage of desperation.
Cassandra: "A bunch of spineless fools! Cassandra felt like she was on the brink of death, about to suffocate. Lying there, she gazed up at the blue sky and fluffy clouds. Her vision filled with Josefina's face, that face she envied so much then, everything went black.
